We also are men of like nature with you, proclaiming to you glad tidings, that ye should turn from these vanities to the living God, Who made the heaven, and the earth, and the sea, and all things that are in them; Who, in the past generations, suffered all the nations to walk in their own ways; and yet He left not Himself without witness, doing good, giving you rains from heaven, and fruitful seasons, filling your hearts with food and gladness." And, saying these things, they with difficulty restrained the multitude from offering sacrifice to them. But there came thither Jews from Antioch and Iconium; and, having persuaded the multitudes, and having stoned Paul, they drew him outside the city, supposing him to have died. But, the disciples having surrounded him, rising up, he entered into the city; and, on the following day, he departed with Barnabas to Derbe. And, having proclaimed the glad tidings to that city, and having made many disciples, they returned to Lystra, and Iconium, and Antioch;

And he came down also to Derbe and to Lystra. And, behold, a certain disciple was there, Timothy by name, son of a believing Jewish woman, but of a Grecian father; who was well reported of by the brethren in Lystra and Iconium;
