After this he built an outer wall for the City of David on the west side of Gihon, in the river valley, to the entrance of the Fish Gate; and he encircled the Ophel with it and made it very high. Then he put military commanders in all the fortified cities of Judah.

He built the upper gate of the house of the Lord, and did extensive building on the wall of Ophel.

And the servants of the priests dwelling on Ophel [the hill south of the temple] repaired to opposite the Water Gate on the east and the projecting tower. After them the Tekoites repaired another portion opposite the great projecting tower to the wall of Ophel.
