Mixed Marriages Are Condemned

²⁷ And should we hearken to you to do all this great evil, to act unfaithfully to our God by marrying foreign wives? ²⁸ And one of the sons of Joiada, the son of Eliashib the high priest, was son-in-law to Sanballat the Horonite; and I chased him from me. ²⁹ Remember them, my God, for they are polluters of the priesthood, and of the covenant of the priesthood and of the Levites!
