As morning dawned, the angels urged Lot, saying, "Up! Take your wife and your two daughters who are here, lest you be swept away in the punishment of the city."

Their quiver is like an open tomb; they are all mighty warriors.

And with many other words he bore witness and continued to exhort them, saying, "Save yourselves from this crooked generation."

Therefore go out from their midst, and be separate from them, says the Lord, and touch no unclean thing; then I will welcome you,

Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.

Then I heard another voice from heaven saying, "Come out of her, my people, lest you take part in her sins, lest you share in her plagues;

"Get away from the midst of this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment."And they fell on their faces.

I will strike them with the pestilence and disinherit them, and I will make of you a nation greater and mightier than they."

Now therefore let me alone, that my wrath may burn hot against them and I may consume them, in order that I may make a great nation of you."

For the LORD had said to Moses, "Say to the people of Israel, 'You are a stiff-necked people; if for a single moment I should go up among you, I would consume you. So now take off your ornaments, that I may know what to do with you.'"

How they are destroyed in a moment, swept away utterly by terrors!

And the angel of the LORD went out and struck down a hundred and eighty-five thousand in the camp of the Assyrians. And when people arose early in the morning, behold, these were all dead bodies.

Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe,
