But Moses and Aaron fell facedown and said, “God, God of the spirits of all flesh, when one man sins, will You vent Your wrath on the whole community?”

“May the Lord, the God of the spirits of all flesh, appoint a man over the community

Abraham stepped forward and said, “Will You really sweep away the righteous with the wicked?

Then Moses and Aaron fell down with their faces to the ground in front of the whole assembly of the Israelite community.

The life of every living thing is in His hand,
as well as the breath of all mankind.

Then he said, “Let the Lord not be angry, and I will speak one more time. Suppose 10 are found there?”

He answered, “I will not destroy it on account of 10.”

“Get away from this community so that I may consume them instantly.” But they fell facedown.

When David saw the angel striking the people, he said to the Lord, “Look, I am the one who has sinned; I am the one who has done wrong. But these sheep, what have they done? Please, let Your hand be against me and my father’s family.”

and the dust returns to the earth as it once was,
and the spirit returns to God who gave it.

For I will not accuse you forever,
and I will not always be angry;
for then the spirit would grow weak before Me,
even the breath of man, which I have made.

An Oracle

The word of the Lord concerning Israel.
A declaration of the Lord,
who stretched out the heavens,
laid the foundation of the earth,
and formed the spirit of man within him.

Furthermore, we had natural fathers discipline us, and we respected them. Shouldn’t we submit even more to the Father of spirits and live?

When Moses heard this, he fell facedown.

The Israelites, however, were unfaithful regarding the things set apart for destruction. Achan son of Carmi, son of Zabdi, son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took some of what was set apart, and the Lord’s anger burned against the Israelites.

The Lord’s anger burned against Israel again, and He stirred up David against them to say: “Go, count the people of Israel and Judah.”

So then, as through one trespass there is condemnation for everyone, so also through one righteous act there is life-giving justification for everyone.

It bears all things, believes all things,
hopes all things, endures all things.
