The people spoke against God and Moses: “Why have you led us up from Egypt to die in the wilderness? There is no bread or water, and we detest this wretched food!”

They spoke against God, saying,
“Is God able to provide food in the wilderness?

They said to Moses: “Is it because there are no graves in Egypt that you took us to die in the wilderness? What have you done to us by bringing us out of Egypt?

The people grumbled to Moses, “What are we going to drink?”

The entire Israelite community grumbled against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness.

in the morning you will see the Lord’s glory because He has heard your complaints about Him. For who are we that you complain about us?”

When the Israelites saw it, they asked one another, “What is it?” because they didn’t know what it was.

Moses told them, “It is the bread the Lord has given you to eat.

The house of Israel named the substance manna. It resembled coriander seed, was white, and tasted like wafers made with honey.

So the people complained to Moses, “Give us water to drink.”

“Why are you complaining to me?” Moses replied to them. “Why are you testing the Lord?”

Now the people began complaining openly before the Lord about hardship. When the Lord heard, His anger burned, and fire from the Lord blazed among them and consumed the outskirts of the camp.

Then the whole community broke into loud cries, and the people wept that night.

Is it not enough that you brought us up from a land flowing with milk and honey to kill us in the wilderness? Do you also have to appoint yourself as ruler over us?

The next day the entire Israelite community complained about Moses and Aaron, saying, “You have killed the Lord’s people!”

Then the Israelites declared to Moses, “Look, we’re perishing! We’re lost; we’re all lost!

God provides homes for those who are deserted.
He leads out the prisoners to prosperity,
but the rebellious live in a scorched land.

He rained manna for them to eat;
He gave them grain from heaven.

A person who is full tramples on a honeycomb,
but to a hungry person, any bitter thing is sweet.
