¹ On the day that Moses had finished setting up the tabernacle and had anointed and consecrated it and all its furniture, and the altar and all its utensils; he also anointed them and consecrated them [for holy use].

⁵ "Take these gifts from them and use them in service at the Tent of Meeting. Present them to the descendants of Levi, distributing them to each person according to his work."

⁷ He gave two carts and four oxen to the sons of Gershon, according to their service [in transporting the tabernacle];

⁹ But unto the sons of Kohath he gave none: because the service of the sanctuary belonging unto them was that they should bear upon their shoulders.

⁹ But he did not give any to the Kohathites, since their responsibility was service related to the holy objects^(E) carried on their shoulders.^(F)
