Therefore, my beloved, as ye have always hearkened, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own saving health with fear and trembling.

Ye also, giving all diligence to the same, show forth virtue in your faith; and in virtue, knowledge;

Take my yoke upon you and learn of me, for I am meek and humble of heart, and ye shall find rest for your souls.

Labour not for the food which perishes, but for the food which abides unto eternal life, which the Son of man shall give unto you, for him has God the Father sealed.

And this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awaken ourselves out of sleep, for now is our saving health nearer than when we believed.

Therefore, my beloved brothers, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

And his inward affection is more abundant toward you while he remembers the obedience of you all, how with fear and trembling ye received him.
