The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son makes a glad father: but a foolish son is the grief of his mother.
Whosoever loves wisdom rejoices his father: but he that keeps company with harlots wastes his substance.
The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself brings his mother to shame.
My son, if your heart is wise, my heart shall rejoice, even mine.
A foolish son is the calamity of his father: and the contentions of a wife are a continual dripping.
The father of the righteous shall greatly rejoice: and he that begets a wise child shall have joy in him.
And who knows whether he shall be a wise man or a fool? yet shall he have rule over all my labor in which I have labored, and in which I have shown myself wise under the sun. This is also vanity.
