Proverbs 10:26

As vinegar to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, so is the lazy man to those who sent him.

As the cold of snow in the time of harvest, so is a faithful messenger to those who send him. He refreshes his masters.

Like the man does not wear a coat in winter, or like vinegar on soda, so is he who sings songs to a heavy heart.

He who sends a message by the hand of a fool cuts off the feet, and drinks violence.

They say: 'Keep away! Do not come near me, for I am too sacred for you! Such people are smoke in my nostrils, a fire that keeps burning all day.'

But his lord answered: 'You wicked and lazy servant. You knew that I reap where I did not sow and gather where I did not scatter.

Do not lag behind in diligence. Be fervent in spirit serving God.

We desire that you are not lazy, but follow those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
