The desire of the righteous is acceptable; but the hope of the ungodly is indignation.

But unto them that are rebellious, and disobey the truth, and follow iniquity, shall come indignation and wrath,

The patient abiding of the righteous shall be turned to gladness; but the hope of the ungodly shall perish.

LORD, thou hast heard the desire of the poor; thou preparest their heart, and thine ear hearkeneth thereto,

One thing have I desired of the LORD, which I will require, even that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the fair beauty of the LORD, and to visit his temple.

Delight thou in the LORD, and he shall give thee thy heart's desire.

"And now, LORD, what is my hope? Truly my hope is even in thee.

O that my ways were made so direct, that I might keep thy statutes!

With my whole heart do I seek thee; O let me not go wrong out of thy commandments.

When an ungodly man dieth, his hope is gone; the confidence of riches shall perish.

My soul lusteth after thee all the night long, and my mind hasteth freely to thee. For as soon as thy judgment is known to the world, then the inhabiters of the earth learn righteousness.

And I enforced not to be a shepherd that should not follow thee: and the day of destruction have I not desired, thou knowest. And that proceeded out of my mouth was right in thy sight.

Blessed are they which hunger and thirst for righteousness: for they shall be filled.
