Lay not wait, O wicked man, against the dwelling of the righteous; spoil not his resting place:

and they plotted to arrest Jesus by stealth and kill him.

but their plot became known to Saul. They were watching the gates day and night, to kill him;

But the son of Paul's sister heard of their ambush, and he went and entered the barracks and told Paul.

as a favor to them, to have Paul transferred to Jerusalem, for they were preparing an ambush to kill him along the way.
