Lay not wait, O wicked man, against the dwelling of the righteous; spoil not his resting place:

And they consulted together, how they might seize Jesus by guile, and put him to death.

but their design was discovered to Saul. And they kept guard at the gates of the city day and night, that they might kill him.

Now Paul's sister's son having heard of their lying in wait, came, and entering into the fortress told Paul.

begging it as a favour from him, that he would send him back to Jerusalem, lying in wait for him to kill him on the road.
