She sat across from him at a distance. She thought: I cannot watch the boy die. She sat opposite him, and lifted up her voice and wept.

So they complained to Moses about this: Give us water to drink! Moses said: Why do you complain to me? Why do you test Jehovah?

Samson became very thirsty. He called to Jehovah: You gave me this great victory. Will I now die of thirst and be captured by these heathen Philistines?

David grew homesick. He said: I wish someone would bring me a drink of water from the well by the gate at Bethlehem!

([Sons of Korah]) As the deer desires the water brooks, so I desire you, O God.

([[Psalm of David] in the wilderness of Judah:]) O God, you are my God. At dawn I search for you. I thirst for you. My body longs for you in a dry, parched land where there is no water.

Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the water. You, who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost.

Does the snow of Lebanon forsake the rock of the open country? Or is the cold flowing water from a foreign land ever snatched away?

On the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and shouted in a loud voice: If any man thirst let him come to me and drink.

And he said to me: It is done! I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give to him who thirsts from the fountain of the water of life freely.

The Spirit and the bride say: Come And let him who hears say: Come. And let him who is thirsty come. And whoever will, let him drink the water of life freely.

So

The light of the eyes rejoices the heart: and a good report makes the bones healthy.

How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace and who bring good tidings of good things! For they proclaim salvation and say to Zion: Your God reigns as king! (Hebrew: Elohiym' malak': God rules!)

Behold, upon the mountains the feet of him who brings good tidings. Who publishes peace! Keep your feasts, O Judah and perform your vows! The wicked will no more pass through (invade) you. They will be completely destroyed.

The angel spoke to them: Do not be afraid. Behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy to all the people.

How will they preach unless they have been sent? Just as it is written: How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace and who bring good tidings of good things! For they proclaim salvation and say to Zion: Your God reigns as king! (Hebrew: Elohiym' malak': God rules!) (Isaiah 52:7)

Faithful is the saying, and worthy of acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am foremost.
