How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? when wilt thou arise out of thy sleep?

Understand, ye brutish among the people; and ye fools, when will ye be wise?

There was a man sent from God, his name John.

This also, knowing the time, that it is already time that we should be aroused out of sleep; for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.

Wherefore he says, Wake up, thou that sleepest, and arise up from among the dead, and the Christ shall shine upon thee.

for ye know perfectly well yourselves, that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief by night.

And they gathered it every morning, every man as much as he could eat; and when the sun became hot, it melted.

A sluggard burieth his hand in the dish, and will not even bring it to his mouth again.

The desire of the sluggard killeth him; for his hands refuse to work:

As the door turneth upon its hinges, so the sluggard upon his bed.
