While the ungodly hath the overhand, the poor must suffer persecution; let them be taken in the crafty wiliness that they have imagined!

Let the lying lips be put to silence, which cruelly, disdainfully, and despitefully speak against the righteous.

O let not the foot of pride overtake me; O let not the hand of the ungodly cast me down.

The proud imagine lies upon me, but I keep thy commandments with my whole heart.

Be thou surety for thy servant to do him good, that the proud do me no wrong.

The proud have laid a snare for me, and spread a net abroad with cords, yea and set traps in my way. Selah.
