Psalm 118:18

as unknown and well-known, as dying and behold we live, as chastened and not killed,

but being judged, we are chastened by the Lord, that we may not be condemned with the world.

but we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we might not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead,

For they for a few days corrected us as seemed good to them, but he for the best, that we may partake of his holiness.
