[The] cords of [the] wicked surround me, [but] I do not forget your law.

He sits in ambush in villages; in the hiding places he kills [the] innocent. His eyes {lurk} for [the] helpless.

When evildoers drew near against me to eat my flesh-- my adversaries and my enemies [who drew near] to me-- they themselves stumbled and fell.

[The] wicked watches for the righteous and seeks to kill him.

Those who seek my life lay snares as well, and those intent on my harm speak threats. They also plot deceit all day.

So then, O king, {whenever you want} to come down, come down, and [it will be] for us to deliver him into the hand of the king."

Then Ahithophel said to Absalom, "Please let me choose twelve thousand men, and I will set out and pursue after David {tonight}.
