Psalm 120:2

Deliver my soul, LORD, from lying lips, from a deceitful tongue.

Unrighteous witnesses rise up. They ask me about things that I do not know about.

Your tongue plots destruction, like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.

God of my praise, do not remain silent,

Deliver me, LORD, from the evil man. Preserve me from the violent man;

Lying lips are an abomination to the LORD, but those who do the truth are his delight.

Now the chief priests and the whole council sought false testimony against Jesus so they could put him to death;
