1 For the choir director. A Davidic psalm.Lord, how long will You forget me?Forever?How long will You hide Your face from me?(A)

1 How long? LORD, will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me?

2 How long is my soul to be in doubt, with sorrow in my heart all the day? how long will he who is against me be given power over me?

2 How long shall I (C)take counsel in my soul,Having (D)sorrow in my heart all the day?How long will my enemy be exalted over me?

2 How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart daily? how long shall mine enemy be exalted over me?

2 How long will I store up anxious concerns(a) within me,agony in my mind every day?How long will my enemy dominate me?(B)

2 How long must I struggle in my soul at night and have sorrow in my heart during the day? How long will my enemy rise up against me?

3 Let my voice come before you, and give me an answer, O Lord my God; let your light be shining on me, so that the sleep of death may not overtake me;

3 (E)Consider and answer me, O Lord my God;(F)Enlighten my eyes, or I will (G)sleep the sleep of death,

3 Consider and hear me, O LORD my God: lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death;

3 Consider me and answer, Lord my God.Restore brightness to my eyes;(C)otherwise, I will sleep in death.

3 Look at me! Answer me, LORD, my God! Give light to my eyes! Otherwise, I will sleep in death;

4 And he who is against me may not say, I have overcome him; and those who are troubling me may not be glad when I am moved.

4 And my enemy will (H)say, “I have overcome him,”And (I)my adversaries will rejoice when I am shaken.

4 Lest mine enemy say, I have prevailed against him; and those that trouble me rejoice when I am moved.

4 My enemy will say, “I have triumphed over him,”and my foes will rejoice because I am shaken.(D)

4 Otherwise, my enemy will say, "I have overcome him;" Otherwise, my persecutor will rejoice when I am shaken.

5 But I have had faith in your mercy; my heart will be glad in your salvation.

5 But I have (J)trusted in Your lovingkindness;My heart shall (K)rejoice in Your salvation.

5 But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.

5 But I have trusted in Your faithful love;(E)my heart will rejoice in Your deliverance.(F)

5 As for me, I have trusted in your gracious love, my heart will rejoice in your deliverance.

6 I will make a song to the Lord, because he has given me my reward.

6 I will (L)sing to the Lord,Because He has (M)dealt bountifully with me.
