Sihon the king of the Amorites, and Og king of Bashan, and all the kingdoms of Canaan,

The people of Israel sent messengers to the Amorite king Sihon to say:

King Sihon of Heshbon would not allow us to pass through. Jehovah your God made him stubborn and overconfident in order to hand him over to you, as he has now done.

When you reached this place, Sihon the king of Heshbon and Og the king of Bashan came out to meet us for battle. We defeated them!
