Psalm 140:1

Rescue me, O Yahweh, from evil men. Preserve me from violent men,

who delivered me from my enemies. Indeed, you exalted me higher than [those who] rose against me. You delivered me from the man of violence.

My God, rescue me from [the] hand of [the] wicked, from [the] {grasp} of [the] evildoer and [the] oppressor,

Do not let a {slanderer} be established in the land; as for [the] man of violence, let evil hunt him quickly.

Rise up, O Yahweh, confront {him}. Make him bow down. Rescue with your sword my life from [the] wicked,

Judge me, O God, and plead my case against an unfaithful nation. From a man of deceit and wickedness rescue me,

Deliver me from my enemies, O my God. Protect me from those who rise up against me.

Protect me, O Yahweh, from [the] hands of [the] wicked. Preserve me from violent men, who have planned to {make me stumble}.

O Yahweh, how long shall I cry for help and you will not listen? [How long] will I cry out to you, "Violence!" and you will not save?
