1 A Davidic psalm.Lord, hear my prayer.In Your faithfulness listen to my plea,and in Your righteousness answer me.(A)
1 LORD, hear my prayer; pay attention to my request, because you are faithful; answer me in your righteousness.
2 And do not enter into judgment with Your servant, for in Your sight no one living is just.
2 And enter not into judgment with thy servant: for in thy sight shall no man living be justified.
2 And (D)do not enter into judgment with Your servant,For in Your sight (E)no man living is righteous.
2 Do not enter into judgment with your servant, for no living person is righteous in your sight.
3 For the enemy has pursued my soul; he has beaten my life down to the ground; he has made me dwell in darkness, as those long dead.
3 For the enemy hath persecuted my soul; he hath smitten my life down to the ground; he hath made me to dwell in darkness, as those that have been long dead.
3 For the enemy has persecuted my soul;He has crushed my life (F)to the ground;He (G)has made me dwell in dark places, like those who have long been dead.

3 For those who oppose me are pursuing my life, crushing me to the ground, making me sit in darkness like those who died long ago.
5 I remember the days of old; I think on all Your works; I muse on the work of Your hands.

7 Hear me quickly, O Jehovah; my spirit fails; do not hide Your face from me, lest I be like those who go down into the Pit.
7 Hear me speedily, O LORD: my spirit faileth: hide not thy face from me, lest I be like unto them that go down into the pit.

8 Cause me to hear Your loving-kindness in the morning, for I do trust in You; cause me to know the way in which I should walk, for I lift up my soul to You.
8 Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee.

10 Teach me to do Your will; for You are my God; Your Spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness.

11 For the sake of your name, LORD, preserve my life. Because you are righteous, bring me out of trouble.
12 And out of Your mercy cut off my enemies, and destroy all those who afflict my soul; for I am Your servant.
