1 A (a)Mikhtam of David.(A)Preserve me, O God, for (B)I take refuge in You.

1 {Michtam of David.} Preserve me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust.

1 A Davidic Miktam.(A)Protect me, God, for I take refuge in You.(B)

1 Keep me safe, God, for I take refuge in you.

1 Keep and protect me, O God, for in You I have placed my trust and found refuge.

2 (b)I said to the Lord, “You are (c)my Lord;I (C)have no good besides You.”

2 O my soul, thou hast said unto the LORD, Thou art my Lord: my goodness extendeth not to thee;

2 I(a) said to Yahweh, “You are my Lord;I have nothing good besides You.”(b)(C)

2 I told the LORD, "You are my master, I have nothing good apart from you."

2 I said to the Lord, “You are my Lord;I have no good besides You.”

3 As for the (d)(D)saints who are in the earth,(e)They are the majestic ones (E)in whom is all my delight.

3 But to the saints that are in the earth, and to the excellent, in whom is all my delight.

3 As for the holy people who are in the land,(D)they are the noble ones. All my delight is in them.

3 As for the saints that are in the land, they are noble, and all my delight is in them.

3 As for the saints (godly people) who are in the land,They are the majestic and the noble and the excellent ones in whom is all my delight.

4 The (f)(F)sorrows of those who have (g)bartered for another god will be multiplied;I shall not pour out their drink offerings of (G)blood,Nor will I (H)take their names upon my lips.

4 Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after another god: their drink offerings of blood will I not offer, nor take up their names into my lips.

4 The sorrows of those who take another godfor themselves will multiply;I will not pour out their drink offerings of blood, and I will not speak their names with my lips.(E)

4 Those who hurry after another god will have many sorrows; I will not present their drink offerings of blood, nor will my lips speak their names.

5 Lord, You are my portion(c)and my cup of blessing; You hold my future.(F)

5 The LORD is my inheritance and my cup; you support my lot.

5 The Lord is the portion of my inheritance, my cup [He is all I need];You support my lot.

6 The (L)lines have fallen to me in pleasant places;Indeed, my heritage is (M)beautiful to me.

6 The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.

6 The boundary lines have fallen for mein pleasant places;indeed, I have a beautiful inheritance.(G)

6 The boundary lines have fallen in pleasant places for me; truly, I have a beautiful heritage.

6 The [boundary] lines [of the land] have fallen for me in pleasant places;Indeed, my heritage is beautiful to me.

7 I will bless the Lord who has (N)counseled me;Indeed, my (h)(O)mind instructs me in the night.

7 I will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons.

7 I will praise the Lord who counsels me(H)even at night my conscience instructs me.(I)

7 I will bless the LORD who has counseled me; indeed, my conscience instructs me during the night.

7 I will bless the Lord who has counseled me;Indeed, my heart (mind) instructs me in the night.

8 (P)I have (Q)set the Lord continually before me;Because He is (R)at my right hand, (S)I will not be shaken.

10 For You (W)will not abandon my soul to (i)Sheol;Nor will You (j)(X)allow Your (k)Holy One to (l)undergo decay.

10 For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

10 For You will not abandon me to Sheol;(L)You will not allow Your Faithful One to see decay.(M)
