For you light my lamp; Yahweh, my God, lights up my darkness.

The light becomes dark in his tent, and his lamp above him is put out.

There I will cause a horn to grow for David; I will set a lamp for my anointed one.

To his son I will give one tribe in order to be a lamp for my servant David, always before my face, in Jerusalem the city in which I have chosen to place my name.

when his shining lamp [was] over my head-- by his light I walked through darkness--

For you, O Yahweh [are] my lamp, and Yahweh lightens my darkness.

For the sake of David, Yahweh his God gave him a lamp in Jerusalem, by establishing his son after him and by causing Jerusalem to exist;

[His] light rises in the darkness for the upright; [he is] gracious and compassionate and righteous.

The lamp of Yahweh [is] the spirit of humankind, he who searches every {innermost part}.

And I will lead the blind by a road they do not know; I will cause [them] to tread on paths they have not known. I will make darkness {in their presence} into light and rough places into level ground. These [are] the things I will do, and I will not forsake them.

For the sake of Zion I will not be silent, and for the sake of Jerusalem I will not maintain a quiet attitude, until her righteousness goes out like the bright light, and her salvation burns like a torch.

But you [are] a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for [God's] possession, so that you may proclaim the virtues of the one who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light,
