A Welcome For God Into The Temple

1 A psalm of David. The Lord owns the earth and all it contains, the world and all who live in it.

1 {A Psalm of David.} The earth is the LORD'S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.

1 A Davidic psalm.The earth and everything in it,the world and its inhabitants,belong to the Lord;(A)

1 The earth and everything in it exists for the LORD the world and those who live in it.

2 For he set its foundation upon the seas, and established it upon the ocean currents.

2 For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.

2 For He has (C)founded it upon the seasAnd established it upon the rivers.

2 for He laid its foundation on the seasand established it on the rivers.(B)

2 Indeed, he founded it upon the seas, he established it upon deep waters.

3 Who is allowed to ascend the mountain of the Lord? Who may go up to his holy dwelling place?

3 Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place?

3 Who may (D)ascend into the (E)hill of the Lord?And who may stand in His holy (F)place?

3 Who may ascend the mountain of the LORD? Who may stand in his Holy Place?

4 The one whose deeds are blameless and whose motives are pure, who does not lie, or make promises with no intention of keeping them.

4 He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.

4 He who has (G)clean hands and a (H)pure heart,Who has not (I)lifted up his soul (b)to falsehoodAnd has not (J)sworn deceitfully.

4 The one who has clean hands and a pure heart,(D)who has not set his mind(a) on what is false,(E)and who has not sworn deceitfully.

4 The one who has innocent hands and a pure heart; the person who does not delight in what is false and does not swear an oath deceitfully.

5 Such godly people are rewarded by the Lord, and vindicated by the God who delivers them.

5 He shall receive the blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.

5 He shall receive a (K)blessing from the LordAnd (c)(L)righteousness from the God of his salvation.

5 He will receive blessing from the Lord,(F)and righteousness from the God of his salvation.(G)

5 This person will receive blessing from the LORD and righteousness from the God of his salvation.

6 Such purity characterizes the people who seek his favor, Jacob's descendants, who pray to him. (Selah)

6 This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek thy face, O Jacob. Selah.

6 (d)This is the generation of those who (M)seek Him,Who seek Your face—even Jacob. (e)Selah.

6 Such is the generation of those who seek Him,who seek the face of the God of Jacob.(b)(H)Selah

6 This is the generation that seeks him. Those who seek your face are the true seed of Jacob. Interlude

7 Look up, you gates! Rise up, you eternal doors! Then the majestic king will enter!

7 Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.

7 Lift up your heads, you gates!Rise up, ancient doors!Then the King of glory will come in.(I)

8 Who is this majestic king? The Lord who is strong and mighty! The Lord who is mighty in battle!

8 Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.

9 Look up, you gates! Rise up, you eternal doors! Then the majestic king will enter!

9 Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.

9 Lift up your heads, O gates,And lift them up, O (g)ancient doors,That the King of (R)glory may come in!

10 Who is this majestic king? The Lord who commands armies! He is the majestic king! (Selah)
