The wicked, in his pride, doth hotly pursue the afflicted. They shall be taken in the devices that they have imagined.

Jehovah will cut off all flattering lips, the tongue that speaketh proud things,

I have set Jehovah continually before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.

Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings,

For the king confideth in Jehovah: and through the loving-kindness of the Most High he shall not be moved.

He only is my rock and my salvation; my high fortress: I shall not be moved.

The proud have derided me beyond measure: I have not declined from thy law.

The proud have forged falsehood against me: I will observe thy precepts with my whole heart.
