Psalm 39:11

When thou with rebukes dost correct man for iniquity, thou makest his beauty to consume away like a moth: surely every man is vanity. Selah.

([Psalm of David]) O Jehovah, do not correct me or discipline me in your burning anger.

Your anger consumes us. We are troubled by your rage.

Deliver this one to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.

Jehovah disciplines those he loves. In fact he scourges every son (child) he receives.

I reprove and discipline those whom I love: be zealous therefore, and repent.

This is because of your indignation and your anger. You have lifted me up and cast me away.

How much more will he accuse those who live in clay houses that have their foundation in the dust? Those houses can be crushed quicker than a moth!

So man wastes away like something rotten, like a garment eaten by moths.

My skin grows black on me and my bones burn with fever.

The Lord Jehovah helps me. Who will find me guilty? They will all wear out like a garment and moths will eat them.

I am like a moth to Ephraim and to the house of Judah as rottenness.
