For he

He established it for a testimony in Joseph (Israel) when he went throughout the land of Egypt. I heard a language that I did not understand. He said:

Of old I have known from your laws that you have founded them forever.

He speaks his word to Jacob, his laws and judgments to Israel.

After they came out of Egypt they were in the valley east of the Jordan River he gave them the laws.

Carefully teach them to your sons. Talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way. Speak about them when you lie down, and when you rise up.

Teach them to your children! Talk about them in your home and away. Speak of them when you lie down or get up.

They should go to the teachings and to the written instructions. If people do not speak these words, it is because there is no light (truth) in them.

Much in every way. First they were entrusted with the oracles of God.

If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater. The witness of God is this, that he gave witness concerning his Son.

Testimony

I will give you the Ten Commandments written on two flat tablets. Put them inside the chest.

Place the Ark containing the words of my covenant inside it, and hang the canopy over the ark.

The living, yes the living praise you, as I am doing today! Fathers tell their children about your faithfulness.

Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger but nurture them in the discipline and instruction of God.

On that day tell your children: 'We do this because of what Jehovah did for us when we left Egypt.'

This is how generations to come may learn how I made the people of Israel live in booths when I brought them out of Egypt. I am Jehovah your God!'

Teach them to your children! Talk about them in your home and away. Speak of them when you lie down or get up.

Their children, who have not known, will hear and learn to respect Jehovah your God, as long as you live on the land you will possess when you cross the Jordan River.

Tell your children about it, and let your children tell their children, and their children to each new generation.
