Treasury of Scripture Knowledge
In my distress I cried to the LORD; to my God I cried for help. From his Temple he heard my voice; my cry reached his ears.
I sought the LORD and he answered me; he delivered me from all of my fears.
Call on me in the day of distress; I will deliver you, and you will glorify me."
I call upon God, and the LORD will deliver me.
I cry out to God! I cry out to God and he hears me.
When he calls out to me, I will answer him. I will be with him in his distress. I will deliver him, and I will honor him.
My voice cries out to the LORD; my voice pleads for mercy to the LORD.
LORD, they came to you in distress; they poured out their secret prayer when your chastenings were afflicting them.
I called on your name, LORD, from the depths of the Pit,
He said: "I called out to the LORD from the midst of affliction directed at me, and he answered me. From the depths of death I cried out for help; and you heard my cry.
In his anguish he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat became like large drops of blood falling on the ground.
As a mortal man, he offered up prayers and appeals with loud cries and tears to the one who was able to save him from death, and he was heard because of his devotion to God.
