Psalm 89:4

"He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Most High. "And the Lord God will give him the throne of his forefather David,

"How is it," he asked them, "that they say that Christ is David's son?

"And we bring you glad tidings of the promise made to our forefathers,

this gospel is concerning his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, who was born of David's posterity in respect of his bodily nature,

Or again, as Isaiah says. There shall be the root of Jesse, And he that arises to rule over the Gentiles; On him shall the Gentiles hope.

And for this God highly exalted him, and graciously bestowed upon him the name which is above every name;

"I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the root and offspring of David, the bright and morning Star.
