Turn thee again, O LORD, at the last, and be gracious unto thy servants.

"For the LORD will do justice unto his people, and have compassion on his servants. For it shall be seen that their power shall fail, and at the last they shall be prisoned and forsaken.

For the LORD will avenge his people, and be gracious unto his servants.

He thought upon his covenant, and pitied them, according unto the multitude of his mercies;

Turn thee again, thou God of hosts, look down from heaven, behold and visit this vine,

So the LORD was gracious therein, and the LORD said, "Well, it shall not be."

So the LORD was merciful therein, and the LORD God said, "Well, it shall not be."

"Who can tell whether God will turn and repent, and cease from his fierce wrath, that we perish not?"

Wherefore should the Egyptians speak, and say, 'For a mischief did he bring them out: even for to slay them in the mountains, and to consume them from the face of the earth.' Turn from thy fierce wrath, and have compassion over the wickedness of thy people.

And the LORD refrained himself from that evil, which he said he would do unto his people.

My soul also is sore troubled; but LORD, how long wilt thou punish me?

O God, how long shall the adversary do this dishonour? How long shall the enemy blaspheme thy name? Forever?

LORD, how long wilt thou hide thyself? Forever? And shall thy wrath burn like fire?

And when I have rooted them out, I will be at one with them again, and will have mercy upon them: and bring them again, every man to his own heritage, and into his land.

What great things have I given thee, O Ephraim? How faithfully have I defended thee, O Israel? Have I dealt with thee as with Adam? Or have I entreated thee like Zeboim? No, my heart is otherwise minded. Yea, my mercy is to fervent:

And tear your hearts and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God. For he is full of mercy and compassion, long ere he be angry, and great in mercy and repentance when he is at the point to punish.

Therefore thus sayeth the LORD: I will turn me again in mercy toward Jerusalem, so that my house shall be builded in it, sayeth the LORD of Hosts: yea and the plummet shall be laid abroad in Jerusalem, sayeth the LORD of Hosts.'
