Let the lying lips become dumb, which speak insolently against the righteous in pride and contempt.

Behold, they belch out with their mouth; swords are in their lips: for who say they doth hear?

Who have sharpened their tongue like a sword, and have aimed their arrow, a bitter word;

They mock and speak wickedly of oppression, they speak loftily:

They sharpen their tongues like a serpent; adders' poison is under their lips. Selah.

a generation whose teeth are swords, and their jaw-teeth knives, to devour the afflicted from off the earth, and the needy from among men.

And they said, Come, and let us devise devices against Jeremiah; for law shall not perish from the priest, nor counsel from the wise, nor word from the prophet. Come and let us smite him with the tongue, and let us not give heed to any of his words.

But the Pharisees, having heard it, said, This man does not cast out demons, but by Beelzebub, prince of demons.

The wicked, in his pride, doth hotly pursue the afflicted. They shall be taken in the devices that they have imagined.

{To the chief Musician: an instruction. Of David; when Doeg the Edomite came and told Saul, and said unto him, David came to the house of Ahimelech.} Why boastest thou thyself in evil, thou mighty man? The loving-kindness of God abideth continually.

The enemy said, I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; my soul shall be sated upon them; I will unsheath my sword, my hand shall dispossess them.

And they say unto God, Depart from us, for we desire not the knowledge of thy ways!

For he saith, By the strength of my hand I have done it, and by my wisdom, for I am intelligent; and I have removed the bounds of the peoples, and have robbed their treasures, and, like a valiant man, I have brought down them that sit on thrones;

By thy servants thou hast reproached the Lord, and hast said, With the multitude of my chariots am I come up to the height of the mountains, to the recesses of Lebanon; and I will cut down its tall cedars, the choice of its cypresses; and I will enter into its furthest height, into the forest of its fruitful field.

I considered the horns, and behold, there came up among them another, a little horn, before which three of the first horns were plucked up by the roots; and behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of a man, and a mouth speaking great things.

(And he magnified himself even to the prince of the host, and from him the continual sacrifice was taken away, and the place of his sanctuary was cast down.

And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and speak monstrous things against the God of gods; and he shall prosper until the indignation be accomplished: for that which is determined shall be done.

And there was given to it a mouth, speaking great things and blasphemies; and there was given to it authority to pursue its career forty-two months.
