Satan Bound For A Thousand Years

1 Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, holding the key to the bottomless pit, with a large chain in his hand.

1 Then I saw (A)an angel coming down from heaven, holding the (B)key of the abyss and a great chain (a)in his hand.

1 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.

1 Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven with the key to the abyss(A) and a great chain in his hand.

1 (a)And then I saw an angel descending from heaven, holding the key of the abyss (the bottomless pit) and a great chain was in his hand.

2 He captured the dragon, that ancient serpent, also known as the Devil and Satan, and tied him up for a thousand years.

2 And he laid hold of the (C)dragon, the serpent of old, who is the devil and Satan, and (D)bound him for a thousand years;

2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,

2 He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent who is the Devil and Satan,(a)(B) and bound(C) him for 1,000 years.

2 And he overpowered and laid hold of the dragon, that old serpent [of primeval times], who is the devil and Satan, and bound him [securely] for a thousand years (a millennium);(A)

3 He threw him into the bottomless pit, locked it, and sealed it over him to keep him from deceiving the nations anymore until the thousand years were over. After that, he must be set free for a little while.

3 and he threw him into the (E)abyss, and shut it and (F)sealed it over him, so that he would (G)not deceive the nations any longer, until the thousand years were completed; after these things he must be released for a short time.

3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.

3 He threw him into the abyss, closed it, and put a seal on it(D) so that he would no longer deceive the nations(E) until the 1,000 years were completed. After that, he must be released for a short time.

3 and the angel hurled him into the abyss, and closed it and sealed it above him [preventing his escape or rescue], so that he would no longer deceive and seduce the nations, until the thousand years were at an end. After these things he must be liberated for a short time.

The Saints Reign With The Messiah

4 Then I saw thrones, and those who sat on them were given authority to judge. I also saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony about Jesus and because of the word of God. They had not worshipped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or hands. They came back to life and ruled with the Messiah for a thousand years.

4 Then I saw (H)thrones, and (I)they sat on them, and (J)judgment was given to them. And I saw (K)the souls of those who had been beheaded because of (b)their (L)testimony of Jesus and because of the word of God, and those who had not (M)worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received the (N)mark on their forehead and on their hand; and they (O)came to life and (P)reigned with Christ for a thousand years.

4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

4 Then I saw thrones, and people seated on them who were given authority to judge.(F) I also saw the people(b)(G) who had been beheaded(c) because of their testimony about Jesus(H) and because of God’s word, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and who had not accepted the mark on their foreheads or their hands.(I) They came to life(J) and reigned with the Messiah for 1,000 years.

4 And then I saw thrones, and sitting on them were those to whom judgment [that is, the authority to act as judges] was given. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony of Jesus and because of the word of God, and those who had refused to worship the beast or his image, and had not accepted his mark on their forehead and on their hand; and they came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.(B)
