I will praise the Lord who guides me; yes, during the night I reflect and learn.

I will instruct and teach you about how you should live. I will advise you as I look you in the eye.

You guide me by your wise advice, and then you will lead me to a position of honor.

because they had rebelled against God's commands, and rejected the instructions of the sovereign king.

because you neglected all my advice, and did not comply with my rebuke,

Listen to advice and receive discipline, that you may become wise by the end of your life.

Buy

Acquire truth and do not sell it -- wisdom, and discipline, and understanding.

Gold

He will act like a refiner and purifier of silver and will cleanse the Levites and refine them like gold and silver. Then they will offer the Lord a proper offering.

Such trials show the proven character of your faith, which is much more valuable than gold -- gold that is tested by fire, even though it is passing away -- and will bring praise and glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.

I know the distress you are suffering and your poverty (but you are rich). I also know the slander against you by those who call themselves Jews and really are not, but are a synagogue of Satan.

So it is with the one who stores up riches for himself, but is not rich toward God."

For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that although he was rich, he became poor for your sakes, so that you by his poverty could become rich.

Tell them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, to be generous givers, sharing with others.

Listen, my dear brothers and sisters! Did not God choose the poor in the world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom that he promised to those who love him?
