Treasury of Scripture Knowledge

Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.

Later David's conscience bothered him because he had cut off the edge of Saul's robe.

I counsel you: Keep the king's command because of the oath before God.

Remind them to be in subjection to rulers and to authorities, to be obedient, and to be ready to do every good work,

Be subject to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake: whether it is to the king,

I exercise myself always, to have a conscience void of offense toward God and toward men.

Pray for us, for we are persuaded that we have a good conscience. And we wish to live honorably in all things.

For this is to your credit to suffer wrongfully and endure grief because of your conscience toward God.

Keep a good conscience. When you are spoken against, those who revile your good manner of life in Christ may be put to shame.

They answered Joshua: All that you command us we will do. Wherever you send us we will go.
