After he was arrested according to the predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, you crucified this very man and killed him using the hands of lawless men.

This is how God fulfilled what he had predicted through the voice of all the prophets that his Messiah would suffer.

To declare

He wanted to demonstrate at the present time that he himself is righteous and that he justifies anyone who has the faithfulness of Jesus.

The heavens declare his righteousness so that all the nations see his glory.

Your righteousness is an eternal righteousness, and your instruction is true.

If we say that we have never sinned, we make him a liar and his word has no place in us.

Remission

since all have sinned and continue to fall short of God's glory.

What, then, are we to say about Abraham, our human ancestor?

"Therefore, brothers, you must understand that through him the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you,

Though God has overlooked those times of ignorance, he now commands everyone everywhere to repent,

This is a trustworthy saying that deserves complete acceptance: To this world Messiah came, sinful people to reclaim.

This is why the Messiah is the mediator of a new covenant; so that those who are called may receive the eternal inheritance promised them, since a death has occurred that redeems them from the offenses committed under the first covenant.
