Romans 5:7

For scarcely for a righteous person will any one die: though for a good man perhaps some one might even dare to die.

Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith: and a great multitude was added to the Lord.

(who for my life have laid down their own neck: to whom not only I give thanks, but also all the churches of the Gentiles:)

By this we have known the love [of Christ], because for us he laid down his own life: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
