For when we were in the flesh,

the sinful passions operated through the law in every part of us

and bore fruit for death.

and some to shame and eternal contempt.

let him know that whoever turns a sinner from the error of his way will save his life from death and cover a multitude of sins.

For the time has come for judgment to begin with God’s household, and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who disobey the gospel of God?

Because they poured out
the blood of the saints and the prophets,
You also gave them blood to drink;
they deserve it!

Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire.
