But now we have been freed from our relation to the law; we have ended our relation to that by which we once were held in bonds, so that we may serve in a new spiritual way and not in the old literalistic way.

For sin must not any longer exert its mastery over you, for now you are not living as slaves to law but as subjects to God's favor.

For the life-giving power of the Spirit through union with Christ Jesus has set us free from the power of sin and death.

For through the law I myself have become dead to the law, so that I may live for God.

Christ ransomed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us -- for the Scripture says, "Cursed be everyone who is hanged on a tree" --

But if you are guided by the Spirit, you are not subject to the law.

through His human nature He has put a stop to the hostility between us, namely, the law with its commands and decrees, in order to create one new humanity out of the two parties and so make peace through union with Himself, and in one body

canceled the note that stood against us, with its requirements, and has put it out of our way by nailing it to the cross.

It is the bridegroom who has the bride, but the bridegroom's friend, who stands outside and listens to him, is very happy to hear the bridegroom's voice. So this happiness of mine is running over.

But now, since you have been freed from sin and have become the slaves of God, the immediate result is consecration, and the final destiny is eternal life.

By your continuously bearing abundant fruit and in this way proving yourselves to be real disciples of mine, my Father is glorified.

But the product of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

men that are abounding in the fruits of right-doing with the help of Jesus Christ, to the honor and praise of God.

It is not your gift that I want, but I do want the profits to pile up to your credit.
