Zephaniah 1:2

Judah's Impending Judgment

¹ This is the word Jehovah (YHWH) spoke to Zephaniah. Zephaniah was the son of Cushi, the grandson of Gedaliah, and the great-grandson of Amariah, son of Hezekiah. Jehovah spoke his word in the days of Judah's King Josiah, son of Amon. ² “I will completely remove all things
From the face of the earth,” declares the Lord.
³ I will terminate both man and beast. I will put an end to the birds of the sky and the fish of the sea. I will eliminate the sins that make people fall, together with the sinners. I will remove people from the face of the earth, declared Jehovah.

2 Kings 22:16-17

This is what Jehovah says: I am going to bring disaster on this place and on the people living here. This is according to everything written in the book that the king of Judah has read.

Genesis 6:7

So Jehovah said: I will wipe mankind, whom I have created, from the face of the earth. All of them: men and animals, and creatures that move along the ground, and birds of the air. I am sorry that I created them.

2 Chronicles 36:21

This fulfilled the word of Jehovah that was spoken by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had enjoyed its Sabbaths. All the days of its desolation it kept Sabbath until seventy years were complete.

Then I said: How long, O Jehovah? And He answered: Until the cities are laid waste and without inhabitant, until the houses are deserted and the land is utterly desolate.

Jeremiah 6:8-9

Be warned, O Jerusalem, I will be alienated from you. I will make you desolation, a land not inhabited.

Jeremiah 24:8-10

Like the bad figs that cannot be eaten because they are rotten, says Jehovah, so I will abandon Zedekiah king of Judah and his officials, and the remnant of Jerusalem who remain in this land and the ones who dwell in the land of Egypt.

Jeremiah 34:22

I am going to give a command,' declares Jehovah. 'I will bring that army back to this city to attack it, capture it, and burn it down. I will destroy the cities of Judah so that no one will live there.'

Jeremiah 36:29

Say about King Jehoiakim of Judah: 'This is what Jehovah says: You burned this scroll, and you asked Jeremiah: Why did you write that the king of Babylon would certainly come to destroy this land and take away people and animals?'

Ezekiel 33:27-29

Tell them: 'This is what the Lord Jehovah says: As I am alive, whoever is in the ruined cities will be killed in battle. Whoever is in the open field will become food for wild animals. Whoever is in fortified places and caves will die from plagues.

Micah 7:13

The earth will become desolate because of the inhabitants and the fruit of their deeds.
