The oracle on Egypt: Lo! Yahweh, riding upon a swift cloud, and he will enter Egypt, And the idols of Egypt shall shake at his presence, And, the heart of Egypt, shall melt within him;

Then went forth the messenger of Yahweh, and smote - in the camp of the Assyrians - a hundred and eighty-five thousand, - and when men arose early in the morning, lo! they were all, dead bodies!

Behold me! sending and fetching all the families of the North, Declareth Yahweh and Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon my servant, And I will bring them in against this land and against its inhabitants, and against all these nations, round about, - And I will devote them to destruction, and make them an astonishment and a hissing, and age-abiding desolations.

to wit said he - Jerusalem, and the cities of Judah, and her kings her princes, - making them a desolation, an astonishment, a hissing, and a contempt, as at this day;

He that breaketh in pieces hath come up over thy face, Keep the keeps, - watch the way, brace the loins, make vigour very firm.
