Your maidservant

､ וַיֹּ֗אמֶר

And he said ､

､ לְכִ֨י

שַׁאֲלִי־

לָ֤ךְ

to you

כֵּלִים֙

kê·lîm

מִן־

min-

הַח֔וּץ

ha·ḥūṣ,

מֵאֵ֖ת

כָּל־

kāl-

[שכנכי]

šiḵ·nā·ḵê

-

､ (שְׁכֵנָ֑יִךְ‪‬)

šə·ḵê·nā·yiḵ;

your neighbors ､

– כֵּלִ֥ים

kê·lîm

רֵקִ֖ים

rê·qîm

אַל־

’al-

not

. תַּמְעִֽיטִי׃

tam·‘î·ṭî.

do gather just a few .

､ וּבָ֗את

ū·ḇāṯ,

And when you have come in ､

וְסָגַ֤רְתְּ

wə·sā·ḡart

and you shall shut

הַדֶּ֙לֶת֙

had·de·leṯ

the door

בַּעֲדֵ֣ךְ

ba·‘ă·ḏêḵ

וּבְעַד־

ū·ḇə·‘aḏ-

and

､ בָּנַ֔יִךְ

bā·na·yiḵ,

וְיָצַ֕קְתְּ

wə·yā·ṣaqt

עַ֥ל

‘al

כָּל־

kāl-

､ הַכֵּלִ֖ים

hak·kê·lîm

הָאֵ֑לֶּה

hā·’êl·leh;

וְהַמָּלֵ֖א

wə·ham·mā·lê

and the full ones

. תַּסִּֽיעִי׃

tas·sî·‘î.

וַתֵּ֙לֶךְ֙

wat·tê·leḵ

מֵֽאִתּ֔וֹ

mê·’it·tōw,

וַתִּסְגֹּ֣ר

wat·tis·gōr

and shut

הַדֶּ֔לֶת

had·de·leṯ,

the door

בַּעֲדָ֖הּ

ba·‘ă·ḏāh

וּבְעַ֣ד

ū·ḇə·‘aḏ

and

､ בָּנֶ֑יהָ

bā·ne·hā;

הֵ֛ם

מַגִּשִׁ֥ים

brought [the vessels]

אֵלֶ֖יהָ

to her

וְהִ֥יא

and she

[מיצקת]

poured [it] out .

､ וַיְהִ֣י ׀

And it came to pass ､

וַתֹּ֤אמֶר

אֶל־

､ בְּנָהּ֙

הַגִּ֨ישָׁה

אֵלַ֥י

עוֹד֙

. כֶּ֔לִי

ke·lî,

וַיֹּ֣אמֶר

And he said

אֵלֶ֔יהָ

to her

אֵ֥ין

[There is] not

. ע֖וֹד

כֶּ֑לִי

ke·lî;

וַֽיַּעֲמֹ֖ד

way·ya·‘ă·mōḏ

. הַשָּֽׁמֶן׃

וַתָּבֹ֗א

וַתַּגֵּד֙

wat·tag·gêḏ

and told

לְאִ֣ישׁ

lə·’îš

the man

. הָאֱלֹהִ֔ים

hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm,

of God .

､ וַיֹּ֗אמֶר

way·yō·mer,

And he said ､

､ לְכִי֙

lə·ḵî

go ､

מִכְרִ֣י

miḵ·rî

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

､ הַשֶּׁ֔מֶן

haš·še·men,

the oil ､

וְשַׁלְּמִ֖י

wə·šal·lə·mî

and pay

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

[נשיכי]

niš·yê·ḵî

-

､ (נִשְׁיֵ֑ךְ)

niš·yêḵ;

וְאַ֣תְּ

wə·’at

and you

[בניכי]

[and] your sons

וְשָׁם֙

and where there

– אִשָּׁ֣ה

[was] a woman –

גְדוֹלָ֔ה

ḡə·ḏō·w·lāh,

וַתַּחֲזֶק־

wat·ta·ḥă·zeq-

and she persuaded

בּ֖וֹ

bōw

לֶאֱכָל־

le·’ĕ·ḵāl-

to eat

. לָ֑חֶם

lā·ḥem;

､ וַֽיְהִי֙

way·hî

So it was ､

מִדֵּ֣י

mid·dê

as often as

､ עָבְר֔וֹ

‘ā·ḇə·rōw,

he passed by ､

יָסֻ֥ר

yā·sur

he would turn in

שָׁ֖מָּה

šām·māh

לֶאֱכָל־

le·’ĕ·ḵāl-

to eat

. לָֽחֶם׃

lā·ḥem.

וַתֹּ֙אמֶר֙

wat·tō·mer

אֶל־

’el-

to

､ אִישָׁ֔הּ

’î·šāh,

her husband ､

הִנֵּה־

hin·nêh-

､ נָ֣א

nā

now ､

יָדַ֔עְתִּי

yā·ḏa‘·tî,

כִּ֛י

､ אֱלֹהִ֖ים

a upper room ､

on the wall –

קְטַנָּ֔ה

וְנָשִׂ֨ים

and let us put

ל֥וֹ

lōw

שָׁ֛ם

šām

､ מִטָּ֥ה

miṭ·ṭāh

a bed ､

､ וְשֻׁלְחָ֖ן

wə·šul·ḥān

and a table ､

､ וְכִסֵּ֣א

wə·ḵis·sê

and a chair ､

– וּמְנוֹרָ֑ה

ū·mə·nō·w·rāh;

and a lampstand –

､ וְהָיָ֛ה

wə·hā·yāh

so it will be ､

בְּבֹא֥וֹ

bə·ḇō·’ōw

whenever he comes

אֵלֵ֖ינוּ

’ê·lê·nū

to us

יָס֥וּר

yā·sūr

he can turn in

. שָֽׁמָּה׃

šām·māh.

וַיְהִ֥י

way·hî

And it came to pass

､ הַיּ֖וֹם

hay·yō·wm

וַיָּ֣בֹא

way·yā·ḇō

､ שָׁ֑מָּה

šām·māh;

וַיָּ֥סַר

way·yā·sar

and he turned

אֶל־

’el-

in to

､ הָעֲלִיָּ֖ה

hā·‘ă·lî·yāh

the upper room ､

וַיִּשְׁכַּב־

way·yiš·kaḇ-

. שָֽׁמָּה׃

šām·māh.

וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙

And he said

אֶל־

’el-

to

גֵּחֲזִ֣י

gê·ḥă·zî

､ נַעֲר֔וֹ

na·‘ă·rōw,

his servant ､

קְרָ֖א

qə·rā

. לַשּׁוּנַמִּ֣ית

laš·šū·nam·mîṯ

woman Shunammitess .

הַזֹּ֑את

haz·zōṯ;

וַיִּקְרָא־

way·yiq·rā-

and when he had called

לָ֔הּ

lāh,

וַֽתַּעֲמֹ֖ד

wat·ta·‘ă·mōḏ

. לְפָנָֽיו׃

lə·p̄ā·nāw.

וַיֹּ֣אמֶר

way·yō·mer

And he said

ל֗וֹ

lōw,

to him

אֱמָר־

נָ֣א

אֵלֶיהָ֮

חָרַ֣דְתְּ ׀

and answered ､

גֵּיחֲזִ֗י

אֲבָ֛ל

and her husband

. זָקֵֽן׃

､ וַיֹּ֖אמֶר

קְרָא־

וַיִּקְרָא־

and when he had called

לָ֔הּ

וַֽתַּעֲמֹ֖ד

. בַּפָּֽתַח׃

in the doorway .

､ וַיֹּ֗אמֶר

way·yō·mer,

And he said ､

､ לַמּוֹעֵ֤ד

lam·mō·w·‘êḏ

About next year ､

הַזֶּה֙

haz·zeh

כָּעֵ֣ת

kā·‘êṯ

､ חַיָּ֔ה

ḥay·yāh,

of life ､

[אתי]

חֹבֶ֣קֶת

a son .

､ וַתֹּ֗אמֶר

And she said ､

､ אַל־

’al-

､ אֲדֹנִי֙

my lord ､

אִ֣ישׁ

､ הָאֱלֹהִ֔ים

hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm,

of God ､

אַל־

’al-

not

תְּכַזֵּ֖ב

tə·ḵaz·zêḇ

do lie

. בְּשִׁפְחָתֶֽךָ׃

bə·šip̄·ḥā·ṯe·ḵā.

to your maidservant .

､ וַתַּ֥הַר

But conceived ､

הָאִשָּׁ֖ה

וַתֵּ֣לֶד

and bore

בֵּ֑ן

לַמּוֹעֵ֤ד

the time had come

. חַיָּ֔ה

､ וַיִּגְדַּ֖ל

And grew ､

הַיָּ֑לֶד

hay·yā·leḏ;

וַיְהִ֣י

way·hî

and it came to pass

､ הַיּ֔וֹם

hay·yō·wm,

וַיֵּצֵ֥א

way·yê·ṣê

that he went out

אֶל־

’el-

to

אָבִ֖יו

’ā·ḇîw

אֶל־

’el-

to

. הַקֹּצְרִֽים׃

haq·qō·ṣə·rîm.

וַיֹּ֥אמֶר

way·yō·mer

And he said

אֶל־

’el-

to

､ אָבִ֖יו

､ רֹאשִׁ֣י ׀

My head ､

. רֹאשִׁ֑י

my head .

וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙

So he said

שָׂאֵ֖הוּ

וַיִּשָּׂאֵ֔הוּ

And when he had taken him

וַיְבִיאֵ֖הוּ

and brought him

אֶל־

’el-

､ אִמּ֑וֹ

’im·mōw;

וַיֵּ֧שֶׁב

and he sat

עַל־

‘al-

on

בִּרְכֶּ֛יהָ

bir·ke·hā

עַד־

‘aḏ-

､ הַֽצָּהֳרַ֖יִם

haṣ·ṣā·ho·ra·yim

noon ､

. וַיָּמֹֽת׃

way·yā·mōṯ.

and [then] died .

､ וַתַּ֙עַל֙

wat·ta·‘al

And she went up ､

וַתַּשְׁכִּבֵ֔הוּ

wat·taš·ki·ḇê·hū,

עַל־

‘al-

on

מִטַּ֖ת

miṭ·ṭaṯ

the bed

אִ֣ישׁ

’îš

of the man

､ הָאֱלֹהִ֑ים

hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm;

of God ､

וַתִּסְגֹּ֥ר

wat·tis·gōr

and shut [the door]

בַּעֲד֖וֹ

ba·‘ă·ḏōw

. וַתֵּצֵֽא׃

wat·tê·ṣê.

and went out .

וַתִּקְרָא֮

wat·tiq·rā

אֶל־

’el-

to

､ אִישָׁהּ֒

’î·šāh

her husband ､

､ וַתֹּ֗אמֶר

wat·tō·mer,

and said ､

שִׁלְחָ֨ה

šil·ḥāh

､ נָ֥א

nā

לִי֙

lî

me

אֶחָ֣ד

’e·ḥāḏ

מִן־

min-

of

､ הַנְּעָרִ֔ים

han·nə·‘ā·rîm,

the young men ､

וְאַחַ֖ת

wə·’a·ḥaṯ

and one

､ הָאֲתֹנ֑וֹת

hā·’ă·ṯō·nō·wṯ;

of the donkeys ､

וְאָר֛וּצָה

wə·’ā·rū·ṣāh

עַד־

‘aḏ-

to

אִ֥ישׁ

’îš

the man

､ הָאֱלֹהִ֖ים

hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm

of God ､

. וְאָשֽׁוּבָה׃

wə·’ā·šū·ḇāh.

and come back .

､ וַיֹּ֗אמֶר

way·yō·mer,

So he said ､

מַ֠דּוּעַ

mad·dū·a‘

[אתי]

’at·tî

(אַ֣תְּ)

’at

[הלכתי]

hō·laḵ·tî

-

(הֹלֶ֤כֶת)

hō·le·ḵeṯ

אֵלָיו֙

’ê·lāw

to him

؟ הַיּ֔וֹם

hay·yō·wm,

לֹֽא־

lō-

[it is] neither

､ חֹ֖דֶשׁ

ḥō·ḏeš

the New Moon ､

וְלֹ֣א

wə·lō

. שַׁבָּ֑ת

šab·bāṯ;

､ וַתֹּ֖אמֶר

wat·tō·mer

And she said ､

. שָׁלֽוֹם׃

šā·lō·wm.

[it is] well .

וַֽתַּחֲבֹשׁ֙

wat·ta·ḥă·ḇōš

And she saddled

､ הָֽאָת֔וֹן

hā·’ā·ṯō·wn,

a donkey ､

וַתֹּ֥אמֶר

wat·tō·mer

and said

אֶֽל־

’el-

to

､ נַעֲרָ֖הּ

na·‘ă·rāh

her servant ､

､ נְהַ֣ג

nə·haḡ

– וָלֵ֑ךְ

wā·lêḵ;

and go forward –

אַל־

’al-

not

תַּעֲצָר־

ta·‘ă·ṣār-

לִ֣י

lî

for me

לִרְכֹּ֔ב

lir·kōḇ,

the pace

כִּ֖י

kî

אִם־

’im-

אָמַ֥רְתִּי

’ā·mar·tî

. לָֽךְ׃

lāḵ.

וַתֵּ֗לֶךְ

wat·tê·leḵ,

And so she departed

וַתָּב֛וֹא

wat·tā·ḇō·w

and went

אֶל־

’el-

to

אִ֥ישׁ

’îš

the man

הָאֱלֹהִ֖ים

hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm

of God

אֶל־

’el-

at

הַ֣ר

har

. הַכַּרְמֶ֑ל

hak·kar·mel;

､ וַ֠יְהִי

way·hî

So it was ､

כִּרְא֨וֹת

אִישׁ־

the man

הָאֱלֹהִ֤ים

of God

אֹתָהּ֙

’ō·ṯāh

､ מִנֶּ֔גֶד

min·ne·ḡeḏ,

וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙

לִקְרָאתָהּ֒

liq·rā·ṯāh

וֶאֱמָר־

we·’ĕ·mār-

and say

לָ֗הּ

lāh,

to her

הֲשָׁל֥וֹם

hă·šā·lō·wm

[is it] well

לָ֛ךְ

lāḵ

with you

הֲשָׁל֥וֹם

hă·šā·lō·wm

[is it] well

؟ לְאִישֵׁ֖ךְ

lə·’î·šêḵ

with your husband ؟

הֲשָׁל֣וֹם

hă·šā·lō·wm

[is it] well

؟ לַיָּ֑לֶד

lay·yā·leḏ;

with the child ؟

､ וַתֹּ֖אמֶר

wat·tō·mer

and she answered ､

. שָׁלֽוֹם׃

[it is] well .

וַתָּבֹ֞א

And when she came

to

אִ֤ישׁ

the man

הָֽאֱלֹהִים֙

hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm

at

､ הָהָ֔ר

hā·hār,

the hill ､

וַֽתַּחֲזֵ֖ק

wat·ta·ḥă·zêq

. בְּרַגְלָ֑יו

bə·raḡ·lāw;

by him the feet .

וַיִּגַּ֨שׁ

way·yig·gaš

גֵּֽיחֲזִ֜י

gê·ḥă·zî

. לְהָדְפָ֗הּ

lə·hā·ḏə·p̄āh,

to push her away .

､ וַיֹּאמֶר֩

way·yō·mer

But said ､

אִ֨ישׁ

’îš

the man

הָאֱלֹהִ֤ים

hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm

of God

– הַרְפֵּֽה־

har·pêh-

לָהּ֙

lāh

כִּֽי־

kî-

נַפְשָׁ֣הּ

nap̄·šāh

מָֽרָה־

mā·rāh-

לָ֔הּ

lāh,

[is] in deep distress

וַֽיהוָה֙

And he said

､ לְגֵיחֲזִ֜י

to Gehazi ､

חֲגֹ֣ר

､ מָתְנֶ֗יךָ

וְקַ֨ח

and take

מִשְׁעַנְתִּ֣י

miš·‘an·tî

､ בְיָדְךָ֮

in your hand ､

– וָלֵךְ֒

wā·lêḵ

and be on your way –

the face

. הַנָּֽעַר׃

of the child .

､ וַתֹּ֙אמֶר֙

And said ､

אֵ֣ם

הַנַּ֔עַר

of the child

､ חַי־

[As] lives ､

יְהוָ֥ה

Yah·weh

､ וְחֵֽי־

and [as] lives ､

נַפְשְׁךָ֖

אִם־

אֶעֶזְבֶ֑ךָּ

’e·‘ez·ḇe·kā;

I will leave you

､ וַיָּ֖קָם

way·yā·qām

so he arose ､

וַיֵּ֥לֶךְ

. אַחֲרֶֽיהָ׃

’a·ḥă·re·hā.

וְגֵחֲזִ֞י

wə·ḡê·ḥă·zî

עָבַ֣ר

‘ā·ḇar

לִפְנֵיהֶ֗ם

וַיָּ֤שֶׂם

way·yā·śem

and laid

אֶת־

’eṯ-

הַמִּשְׁעֶ֙נֶת֙

ham·miš·‘e·neṯ

עַל־

‘al-

on

פְּנֵ֣י

the face

– הַנַּ֔עַר

han·na·‘ar,

of the child –

וְאֵ֥ין

wə·’ên

but [there was] no

､ ק֖וֹל

וְאֵ֣ין

and no

וַיָּ֤שָׁב

Therefore he went back

לִקְרָאתוֹ֙

וַיַּגֶּד־

and told

､ הַבָּ֑יְתָה

into the house ､

､ וְהִנֵּ֤ה

wə·hin·nêh

and there was ､

הַנַּ֙עַר֙

han·na·‘ar

､ מֵ֔ת

mêṯ,

dead ､

מֻשְׁכָּ֖ב

muš·kāḇ

עַל־

‘al-

on

. מִטָּתֽוֹ׃

miṭ·ṭā·ṯōw.

וַיָּבֹ֕א

way·yā·ḇō

Therefore He went in

וַיִּסְגֹּ֥ר

way·yis·gōr

and shut

הַדֶּ֖לֶת

had·de·leṯ

the door

בְּעַ֣ד

bə·‘aḏ

､ שְׁנֵיהֶ֑ם

šə·nê·hem;

the two of them ､

וַיִּתְפַּלֵּ֖ל

way·yiṯ·pal·lêl

אֶל־

to

. יְהוָֽה׃

Yah·weh.

､ וַיַּ֜עַל

way·ya·‘al

And he went up ､

וַיִּשְׁכַּ֣ב

and lay

､ הַיֶּ֗לֶד

hay·ye·leḏ,

the child ､

וַיָּשֶׂם֩

way·yā·śem

and put

פִּ֨יו

וְעֵינָ֤יו

עַל־

on

､ עֵינָיו֙

‘ê·nāw

וְכַפָּ֣יו

וַיִּגְהַ֖ר

and he stretched out

עָלָ֑יו

‘ā·lāw;

himself on the child

וַיָּ֖חָם

and became warm

בְּשַׂ֥ר

. הַיָּֽלֶד׃

hay·yā·leḏ.

of the child .

､ וַיָּ֜שָׁב

way·yā·šāḇ

And He returned ､

וַיֵּ֣לֶךְ

way·yê·leḵ

בַּבַּ֗יִת

bab·ba·yiṯ,

in the house

– אַחַ֥ת

’a·ḥaṯ

one –

הֵ֙נָּה֙

hên·nāh

וְאַחַ֣ת

wə·’a·ḥaṯ

and one

הֵ֔נָּה

hên·nāh,

､ וַיַּ֖עַל

way·ya·‘al

and again went up ､

וַיִּגְהַ֣ר

way·yiḡ·har

and stretched out

עָלָ֑יו

‘ā·lāw;

וַיְזוֹרֵ֤ר

way·zō·w·rêr

הַנַּ֙עַר֙

han·na·‘ar

עַד־

‘aḏ-

שֶׁ֣בַע

še·ḇa‘

､ פְּעָמִ֔ים

pə·‘ā·mîm,

וַיִּפְקַ֥ח

way·yip̄·qaḥ

הַנַּ֖עַר

han·na·‘ar

אֶת־

. עֵינָֽיו׃

וַיִּקְרָ֣א

And he called

אֶל־

’el-

､ גֵּיחֲזִ֗י

､ וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙

and said ､

קְרָא֙

. הַשֻּׁנַמִּ֣ית

וַיִּקְרָאֶ֖הָ

so he called her

וַתָּב֣וֹא

and when she came in

אֵלָ֑יו

’ê·lāw;

to him

､ וַיֹּ֖אמֶר

way·yō·mer

and he said ､

שְׂאִ֥י

. בְנֵֽךְ׃

ḇə·nêḵ.

､ וַתָּבֹא֙

wat·tā·ḇō

So she went in ､

וַתִּפֹּ֣ל

wat·tip·pōl

and fell

עַל־

‘al-

at

､ רַגְלָ֔יו

raḡ·lāw,

וַתִּשְׁתַּ֖חוּ

wat·tiš·ta·ḥū

､ אָ֑רְצָה

’ā·rə·ṣāh;

to the ground ､

וַתִּשָּׂ֥א

wat·tiś·śā

then she picked up

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

､ בְּנָ֖הּ

bə·nāh

. וַתֵּצֵֽא׃

wat·tê·ṣê.

and went out .

וַיֹּ֣אמֶר

and he said

､ לְנַעֲר֗וֹ

to his servant ､

the pot ､

הַגְּדוֹלָ֔ה

they did know [what they were] .

And they served it

to eat .

､ וַ֠יְהִי

And it came to pass ､

כְּאָכְלָ֨ם

as they were eating

､ מֵהַנָּזִ֜יד

the stew ､

וְהֵ֣מָּה

wə·hêm·māh

､ צָעָ֗קוּ

ṣā·‘ā·qū,

､ וַיֹּֽאמְרוּ֙

way·yō·mə·rū

and said ､

מָ֤וֶת

mā·weṯ

[there is] death

. בַּסִּיר֙

bas·sîr

in the pot .

אִ֣ישׁ

’îš

､ הָאֱלֹהִ֔ים

hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm,

of God ､

וְלֹ֥א

wə·lō

and not

יָכְל֖וּ

yā·ḵə·lū

. לֶאֱכֹֽל׃

eat [it] .

､ וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙

So he said ､

וּקְחוּ־

And he put [it]

that they may eat ､

אָמַ֛ר

､ יְהוָ֖ה

Yah·weh

they shall eat ､

. וְהוֹתֵֽר׃

and have [some] left over .

וַיִּתֵּ֧ן

So he set [it]

לִפְנֵיהֶ֛ם

､ וַיֹּאכְל֥וּ

and they ate ､

וַיּוֹתִ֖רוּ

way·yō·w·ṯi·rū

and had [some] left over

כִּדְבַ֥ר
