and tell

אֵלָ֗יו

כֹּֽה־

אָמַ֤ר

’ā·mar

יְהוָה֙

Yah·weh

אֱלֹהֵ֣י

’ĕ·lō·hê

､ הָֽעִבְרִ֔ים

hā·‘iḇ·rîm,

of the Hebrews ､

שַׁלַּ֥ח

šal·laḥ

let go

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

עַמִּ֖י

‘am·mî

. וְיַֽעַבְדֻֽנִי׃

wə·ya·‘aḇ·ḏu·nî.

that they may serve Me .

if

מָאֵ֥ן

אַתָּ֖ה

’at·tāh

､ לְשַׁלֵּ֑חַ

to let [them] go ､

וְעוֹדְךָ֖

wə·‘ō·wḏ·ḵā

מַחֲזִ֥יק

ma·ḥă·zîq

､ בָּֽם׃

bām.

them ､

､ הִנֵּ֨ה

hin·nêh

יַד־

yaḏ-

the hand

יְהוָ֜ה

Yah·weh

הוֹיָ֗ה

hō·w·yāh,

will be

בְּמִקְנְךָ֙

bə·miq·nə·ḵā

on your livestock

אֲשֶׁ֣ר

’ă·šer

-

､ בַּשָּׂדֶ֔ה

baś·śā·ḏeh,

in the field ､

､ בַּסּוּסִ֤ים

bas·sū·sîm

on the horses ､

､ בַּֽחֲמֹרִים֙

ba·ḥă·mō·rîm

on the donkeys ､

､ בַּגְּמַלִּ֔ים

bag·gə·mal·lîm,

on the camels ､

､ בַּבָּקָ֖ר

bab·bā·qār

on the oxen ､

. וּבַצֹּ֑אן

ū·ḇaṣ·ṣōn;

and on the sheep .

דֶּ֖בֶר

de·ḇer

כָּבֵ֥ד

kā·ḇêḏ

. מְאֹֽד׃

mə·’ōḏ.

וְהִפְלָ֣ה

wə·hip̄·lāh

And will make a difference

יְהוָ֔ה

Yah·weh,

בֵּ֚ין

bên

מִקְנֵ֣ה

miq·nêh

יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל

yiś·rā·’êl,

וּבֵ֖ין

ū·ḇên

and

מִקְנֵ֣ה

miq·nêh

､ מִצְרָ֑יִם

miṣ·rā·yim;

of Egypt ､

וְלֹ֥א

wə·lō

יָמ֛וּת

yā·mūṯ

מִכָּל־

mik·kāl

of all

לִבְנֵ֥י

liḇ·nê

[that] belongs to the sons

יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל

yiś·rā·’êl

. דָּבָֽר׃

dā·ḇār.

וַיָּ֥שֶׂם

יְהוָ֖ה

Yah·weh

､ מוֹעֵ֣ד

mō·w·‘êḏ

a set time ､

､ לֵאמֹ֑ר

lê·mōr;

מָחָ֗ר

mā·ḥār,

יַעֲשֶׂ֧ה

ya·‘ă·śeh

will do

יְהוָ֛ה

Yah·weh

הַדָּבָ֥ר

had·dā·ḇār

הַזֶּ֖ה

haz·zeh

. בָּאָֽרֶץ׃

bā·’ā·reṣ.

in the land .

וַיַּ֨עַשׂ

way·ya·‘aś

So did

יְהוָ֜ה

Yah·weh

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

הַדָּבָ֤ר

had·dā·ḇār

הַזֶּה֙

haz·zeh

､ מִֽמָּחֳרָ֔ת

mim·mā·ḥo·rāṯ,

on the next day ､

וַיָּ֕מָת

way·yā·māṯ

and died

כֹּ֖ל

kōl

מִקְנֵ֣ה

miq·nêh

– מִצְרָ֑יִם

miṣ·rā·yim;

of Egypt –

וּמִמִּקְנֵ֥ה

ū·mim·miq·nêh

but of the livestock

בְנֵֽי־

ḇə·nê-

of the sons

יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל

yiś·rā·’êl

לֹא־

lō-

not

מֵ֥ת

mêṯ

. אֶחָֽד׃

’e·ḥāḏ.

וַיִּשְׁלַ֣ח

way·yiš·laḥ

And sent

､ פַּרְעֹ֔ה

par·‘ōh,

､ וְהִנֵּ֗ה

wə·hin·nêh,

and indeed ､

לֹא־

lō-

not even

מֵ֛ת

mêṯ

מִמִּקְנֵ֥ה

mim·miq·nêh

of the livestock

יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל

yiś·rā·’êl

עַד־

‘aḏ-

-

. אֶחָ֑ד

’e·ḥāḏ;

וַיִּכְבַּד֙

way·yiḵ·baḏ

But became hard

לֵ֣ב

lêḇ

､ פַּרְעֹ֔ה

par·‘ōh,

of Pharaoh ､

וְלֹ֥א

wə·lō

and not

. שִׁלַּ֖ח

šil·laḥ

he did let go .

and let scatter it

הַשָּׁמַ֖יְמָה

the toward heavens

לְעֵינֵ֥י

in the sight

. פַרְעֹֽה׃

וְהָיָ֣ה

And it will become

לְאָבָ֔ק

lə·’ā·ḇāq,

עַ֖ל

אֶ֣רֶץ

the land

､ מִצְרָ֑יִם

miṣ·rā·yim;

of Egypt ､

וְהָיָ֨ה

wə·hā·yāh

and it will cause

עַל־

‘al-

on

､ הָאָדָ֜ם

hā·’ā·ḏām

man ､

וְעַל־

wə·‘al-

and

､ הַבְּהֵמָ֗ה

hab·bə·hê·māh,

לִשְׁחִ֥ין

liš·ḥîn

פֹּרֵ֛חַ

pō·rê·aḥ

אֲבַעְבֻּעֹ֖ת

’ă·ḇa‘·bu·‘ōṯ

בְּכָל־

bə·ḵāl

אֶ֥רֶץ

’e·reṣ

the land

. מִצְרָֽיִם׃

miṣ·rā·yim.

of Egypt .

וַיִּקְח֞וּ

way·yiq·ḥū

אֶת־

’eṯ-

פִּ֣יחַ

､ הַכִּבְשָׁ֗ן

hak·kiḇ·šān,

the furnace ､

וַיַּֽעַמְדוּ֙

way·ya·‘am·ḏū

לִפְנֵ֣י

– פַרְעֹ֔ה

וַיִּזְרֹ֥ק

way·yiz·rōq

אֹת֛וֹ

’ō·ṯōw

מֹשֶׁ֖ה

mō·šeh

– הַשָּׁמָ֑יְמָה

haš·šā·mā·yə·māh;

toward heaven –

וַיְהִ֗י

way·hî,

and [they] caused

שְׁחִין֙

šə·ḥîn

אֲבַעְבֻּעֹ֔ת

’ă·ḇa‘·bu·‘ōṯ,

פֹּרֵ֕חַ

pō·rê·aḥ

､ בָּאָדָ֖ם

bā·’ā·ḏām

on man ､

. וּבַבְּהֵמָֽה׃

ū·ḇab·bə·hê·māh.

and beast .

וְלֹֽא־

wə·lō-

And not

יָכְל֣וּ

yā·ḵə·lū

הַֽחַרְטֻמִּ֗ים

ha·ḥar·ṭum·mîm,

לַעֲמֹ֛ד

la·‘ă·mōḏ

לִפְנֵ֥י

lip̄·nê

､ מֹשֶׁ֖ה

mō·šeh

מִפְּנֵ֣י

mip·pə·nê

– הַשְּׁחִ֑ין

haš·šə·ḥîn;

of the boils –

כִּֽי־

kî-

הָיָ֣ה

hā·yāh

הַשְּׁחִ֔ין

haš·šə·ḥîn,

､ בַּֽחֲרְטֻמִּ֖ם

ba·ḥăr·ṭum·mim

on the magicians ､

וּבְכָל־

ū·ḇə·ḵāl

and on all

. מִצְרָֽיִם׃

miṣ·rā·yim.

וַיְחַזֵּ֤ק

way·ḥaz·zêq

יְהוָה֙

אֶת־

לֵ֣ב

of Pharaoh ､

וְלֹ֥א

､ בַּבֹּ֔קֶר

in the morning ､

וְהִתְיַצֵּ֖ב

wə·hiṯ·yaṣ·ṣêḇ

לִפְנֵ֣י

lip̄·nê

､ פַרְעֹ֑ה

p̄ar·‘ōh;

וְאָמַרְתָּ֣

wə·’ā·mar·tā

and say

､ אֵלָ֗יו

’ê·lāw,

to him ､

כֹּֽה־

kōh-

אָמַ֤ר

’ā·mar

יְהוָה֙

Yah·weh

אֱלֹהֵ֣י

’ĕ·lō·hê

､ הָֽעִבְרִ֔ים

מַגֵּפֹתַי֙

､ לִבְּךָ֔

lib·bə·ḵā,

your very heart ､

､ וּבַעֲבָדֶ֖יךָ

ū·ḇa·‘ă·ḇā·ḏe·ḵā

and on your servants ､

– וּבְעַמֶּ֑ךָ

ū·ḇə·‘am·me·ḵā;

and on your people –

בַּעֲב֣וּר

ba·‘ă·ḇūr

תֵּדַ֔ע

tê·ḏa‘,

כִּ֛י

kî

אֵ֥ין

’ên

[there is] none

כָּמֹ֖נִי

kā·mō·nî

בְּכָל־

bə·ḵāl

in all

. הָאָֽרֶץ׃

hā·’ā·reṣ.

the earth .

כִּ֤י

kî

עַתָּה֙

‘at·tāh

now if

שָׁלַ֣חְתִּי

šā·laḥ·tî

I had stretched out

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

､ יָדִ֔י

yā·ḏî,

My hand ､

וָאַ֥ךְ

wā·’aḵ

אוֹתְךָ֛

’ō·wṯ·ḵā

וְאֶֽת־

wə·’eṯ-

and

עַמְּךָ֖

‘am·mə·ḵā

– בַּדָּ֑בֶר

bad·dā·ḇer;

with pestilence –

וַתִּכָּחֵ֖ד

wat·tik·kā·ḥêḏ

then you would have been cut off

מִן־

min-

. הָאָֽרֶץ׃

hā·’ā·reṣ.

the earth .

וְאוּלָ֗ם

wə·’ū·lām,

בַּעֲב֥וּר

ba·‘ă·ḇūr

זֹאת֙

zōṯ

､ הֶעֱמַדְתִּ֔יךָ

he·‘ĕ·maḏ·tî·ḵā,

I have raised you up ､

בַּעֲב֖וּר

ba·‘ă·ḇūr

הַרְאֹתְךָ֣

har·’ō·ṯə·ḵā

I may show [in] you

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

– כֹּחִ֑י

kō·ḥî;

My power –

וּלְמַ֛עַן

ū·lə·ma·‘an

סַפֵּ֥ר

sap·pêr

may be declared

שְׁמִ֖י

šə·mî

בְּכָל־

bə·ḵāl

in all

. הָאָֽרֶץ׃

hā·’ā·reṣ.

the earth .

עוֹדְךָ֖

‘ō·wḏ·ḵā

As yet

מִסְתּוֹלֵ֣ל

mis·tō·w·lêl

you exalt yourself

､ בְּעַמִּ֑י

bə·‘am·mî;

against My people ､

לְבִלְתִּ֖י

lə·ḇil·tî

in that you will not

. שַׁלְּחָֽם׃

šal·lə·ḥām.

הִנְנִ֤י

hin·nî

מַמְטִיר֙

mam·ṭîr

will cause to rain down

כָּעֵ֣ת

about this time

､ מָחָ֔ר

mā·ḥār,

בָּרָ֖ד

כָּבֵ֣ד

kā·ḇêḏ

､ מְאֹ֑ד

mə·’ōḏ;

הָיָ֤ה

כָמֹ֙הוּ֙

בְּמִצְרַ֔יִם

לְמִן־

הִוָּסְדָ֖ה

וְעַד־

. עָֽתָּה׃

､ שְׁלַ֤ח

send ､

הָעֵז֙

hā·‘êz

[and] gather

אֶֽת־

’eṯ-

-

､ מִקְנְךָ֔

miq·nə·ḵā,

your livestock ､

וְאֵ֛ת

wə·’êṯ

and

כָּל־

kāl-

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

’ă·šer

לְךָ֖

lə·ḵā

– בַּשָּׂדֶ֑ה

baś·śā·ḏeh;

in the field –

כָּל־

kāl-

הָאָדָ֨ם

hā·’ā·ḏām

וְהַבְּהֵמָ֜ה

wə·hab·bə·hê·māh

and every animal

אֲשֶֽׁר־

’ă·šer-

יִמָּצֵ֣א

yim·mā·ṣê

､ בַשָּׂדֶ֗ה

ḇaś·śā·ḏeh,

in the field ､

וְלֹ֤א

wə·lō

and not

יֵֽאָסֵף֙

､ הַבַּ֔יְתָה

hab·bay·ṯāh,

home ､

וְיָרַ֧ד

for shall come down

עֲלֵהֶ֛ם

the hail ､

. וָמֵֽתוּ׃

and they shall die .

man ､

wə·‘al-

and on

､ הַבְּהֵמָ֗ה

hab·bə·hê·māh,

וְעַ֛ל

and on

כָּל־

､ הַשָּׂדֶ֖ה

of the field ､

בְּאֶ֥רֶץ

throughout the land

. מִצְרָֽיִם׃

of Egypt .

And stretched out

מֹשֶׁ֣ה

מַטֵּהוּ֮

עַל־

､ הַשָּׁמַיִם֒

וַֽיהוָ֗ה

קֹלֹת֙

､ וּבָרָ֔ד

and hail ､

וַתִּ֥הֲלַךְ

’ā·rə·ṣāh;

to the ground –

וַיַּמְטֵ֧ר

way·yam·ṭêr

יְהוָ֛ה

on

אֶ֥רֶץ

the land

. מִצְרָֽיִם׃

the hail ､

And sent

לְמֹשֶׁ֣ה

lə·mō·šeh

､ וּֽלְאַהֲרֹ֔ן

ū·lə·’a·hă·rōn,

and Aaron ､

וַיֹּ֥אמֶר

way·yō·mer

and said

､ אֲלֵהֶ֖ם

’ă·lê·hem

to them ､

חָטָ֣אתִי

ḥā·ṭā·ṯî

– הַפָּ֑עַם

hap·pā·‘am;

יְהוָה֙

Yah·weh

､ הַצַּדִּ֔יק

haṣ·ṣad·dîq,

[is] righteous ､

וַאֲנִ֥י

wa·’ă·nî

and I

וְעַמִּ֖י

wə·‘am·mî

and my people

הַעְתִּ֙ירוּ֙

ha‘·tî·rū

אֶל־

’el-

-

יְהוָ֔ה

Yah·weh,

וְרַ֕ב

wə·raḇ

that for [it is] enough

מִֽהְיֹ֛ת

mih·yōṯ

there may be no

קֹלֹ֥ת

qō·lōṯ

אֱלֹהִ֖ים

’ĕ·lō·hîm

. וּבָרָ֑ד

ū·ḇā·rāḏ;

and hail .

וַאֲשַׁלְּחָ֣ה

wa·’ă·šal·lə·ḥāh

And I will let go

､ אֶתְכֶ֔ם

’eṯ·ḵem,

you ､

וְלֹ֥א

wə·lō

and no

תֹסִפ֖וּן

ṯō·si·p̄ūn

. לַעֲמֹֽד׃

la·‘ă·mōḏ.

you shall stay .

וַיֹּ֤אמֶר

way·yō·mer

אֵלָיו֙

’ê·lāw

to him

､ מֹשֶׁ֔ה

mō·šeh,

כְּצֵאתִי֙

kə·ṣê·ṯî

as soon as I have gone out

אֶת־

’eṯ-

of

､ הָעִ֔יר

hā·‘îr,

the city ､

אֶפְרֹ֥שׂ

’ep̄·rōś

I will spread out

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

כַּפַּ֖י

kap·pay

אֶל־

’el-

to

– יְהוָ֑ה

Yah·weh;

הַקֹּל֣וֹת

haq·qō·lō·wṯ

､ יֶחְדָּל֗וּן

yeḥ·dā·lūn,

will cease ､

וְהַבָּרָד֙

wə·hab·bā·rāḏ

and hail

לֹ֣א

lō

no

יִֽהְיֶה־

yih·yeh-

there will be

､ ע֔וֹד

‘ō·wḏ,

more ､

לְמַ֣עַן

lə·ma·‘an

תֵּדַ֔ע

tê·ḏa‘,

כִּ֥י

kî

לַיהוָ֖ה

Yah·weh

. הָאָֽרֶץ׃

hā·’ā·reṣ.

[is] the earth .

וְאַתָּ֖ה

wə·’at·tāh

But as for you

､ וַעֲבָדֶ֑יךָ

wa·‘ă·ḇā·ḏe·ḵā;

and your servants ､

יָדַ֕עְתִּי

yā·ḏa‘·tî

כִּ֚י

kî

טֶ֣רֶם

ṭe·rem

not yet

תִּֽירְא֔וּן

tî·rə·’ūn,

מִפְּנֵ֖י

mip·pə·nê

-

יְהוָ֥ה

Yah·weh

. אֱלֹהִֽים׃

’ĕ·lō·hîm.

וְהַפִּשְׁתָּ֥ה

wə·hap·piš·tāh

וְהַשְּׂעֹרָ֖ה

wə·haś·śə·‘ō·rāh

and the barley

､ נֻכָּ֑תָה

nuk·kā·ṯāh;

were struck ､

כִּ֤י

kî

הַשְּׂעֹרָה֙

haś·śə·‘ō·rāh

､ אָבִ֔יב

’ā·ḇîḇ,

[was] in the head ､

וְהַפִּשְׁתָּ֖ה

wə·hap·piš·tāh

and the flax

. גִּבְעֹֽל׃

giḇ·‘ōl.

[was] in bud .

וְהַחִטָּ֥ה

wə·ha·ḥiṭ·ṭāh

But the wheat

וְהַכֻּסֶּ֖מֶת

wə·hak·kus·se·meṯ

and the spelt

לֹ֣א

lō

not

､ נֻכּ֑וּ

nuk·kū;

were struck ､

כִּ֥י

kî

אֲפִילֹ֖ת

’ă·p̄î·lōṯ

[are] late crops

. הֵֽנָּה׃

hên·nāh.

וַיֵּצֵ֨א

way·yê·ṣê

מֹשֶׁ֜ה

mō·šeh

מֵעִ֤ם

mê·‘im

､ פַּרְעֹה֙

par·‘ōh

אֶת־

’eṯ-

the city ､

וַיִּפְרֹ֥שׂ

כַּפָּ֖יו

Yah·weh;

וַֽיַּחְדְּל֤וּ

הַקֹּלוֹת֙

､ וְהַבָּרָ֔ד

and the hail ､

וּמָטָ֖ר

ū·mā·ṭār

and the rain

לֹא־

נִתַּ֥ךְ

nit·taḵ

. אָֽרְצָה׃

’ā·rə·ṣāh.

on the earth .

וַיַּ֣רְא

way·yar

פַּרְעֹ֗ה

par·‘ōh,

כִּֽי־

חָדַ֨ל

ḥā·ḏal

הַמָּטָ֧ר

ham·mā·ṭār

the rain

וְהַבָּרָ֛ד

wə·hab·bā·rāḏ

and the hail

､ וְהַקֹּלֹ֖ת

wə·haq·qō·lōṯ

and the thunder ､

וַיֹּ֣סֶף

way·yō·sep̄

and yet he more

לַחֲטֹ֑א

la·ḥă·ṭō;

וַיַּכְבֵּ֥ד

way·yaḵ·bêḏ

and he hardened

､ לִבּ֖וֹ

lib·bōw

ה֥וּא

hū

he

. וַעֲבָדָֽיו׃

wa·‘ă·ḇā·ḏāw.

and his servants .

､ וַֽיֶּחֱזַק֙

way·ye·ḥĕ·zaq

So was hard ､

לֵ֣ב

פַּרְעֹ֔ה

וְלֹ֥א

שִׁלַּ֖ח

šil·laḥ

would he let go
