קַח־
qaḥ-
לְךָ֣ ׀

､ חֶ֣רֶב
ḥe·reḇ
a sword ､
חַדָּ֗ה
ḥad·dāh,
､ תַּ֤עַר
ta·‘ar
as a razor ､
הַגַּלָּבִים֙
hag·gal·lā·ḇîm
תִּקָּחֶ֣נָּה
tiq·qā·ḥen·nāh
take it
לָּ֔ךְ
lāḵ,
to
וְהַעֲבַרְתָּ֥
wə·ha·‘ă·ḇar·tā
and pass [it]
עַל־
‘al-
רֹאשְׁךָ֖
rō·šə·ḵā
וְעַל־
wə·‘al-
and
. זְקָנֶ֑ךָ
zə·qā·ne·ḵā;
וְלָקַחְתָּ֥
wə·lā·qaḥ·tā
לְךָ֛
lə·ḵā
to you
מֹאזְנֵ֥י
mō·zə·nê
､ מִשְׁקָ֖ל
miš·qāl
to weigh ､
. וְחִלַּקְתָּֽם׃
wə·ḥil·laq·tām.
and divide the hair .

שְׁלִשִׁ֗ית
šə·li·šîṯ,
בָּא֤וּר
bā·’ūr
with fire
תַּבְעִיר֙
taḇ·‘îr
בְּת֣וֹךְ
bə·ṯō·wḵ
in the midst
､ הָעִ֔יר
hā·‘îr,
of the city ､
. כִּמְלֹ֖את
kim·lōṯ
יְמֵ֣י
yə·mê
The days
הַמָּצ֑וֹר
ham·mā·ṣō·wr;
of the siege
וְלָֽקַחְתָּ֣
wə·lā·qaḥ·tā
אֶת־
’eṯ-
-
､ הַשְּׁלִשִׁ֗ית
haš·šə·li·šîṯ,
a third ､
תַּכֶּ֤ה
tak·keh
and strike
– בַחֶ֙רֶב֙
ḇa·ḥe·reḇ
with the sword –
סְבִ֣יבוֹתֶ֔יהָ
sə·ḇî·ḇō·w·ṯe·hā,
around [it]
וְהַשְּׁלִשִׁית֙
wə·haš·šə·li·šîṯ
and a third
תִּזְרֶ֣ה
tiz·reh
– לָר֔וּחַ
lā·rū·aḥ,
in the wind –
וְחֶ֖רֶב
wə·ḥe·reḇ
and a sword
אָרִ֥יק
’ā·rîq
I will draw out
. אַחֲרֵיהֶֽם׃
’a·ḥă·rê·hem.

וְלָקַחְתָּ֥
wə·lā·qaḥ·tā
מִשָּׁ֖ם
miš·šām
of them
מְעַ֣ט
mə·‘aṭ
､ בְּמִסְפָּ֑ר
bə·mis·pār;
number ､
וְצַרְתָּ֥
wə·ṣar·tā
and bind
אוֹתָ֖ם
’ō·w·ṯām
. בִּכְנָפֶֽיךָ׃
biḵ·nā·p̄e·ḵā.
in the edge of your [garment] .

וּמֵהֶם֙
ū·mê·hem
And some of them
､ ע֣וֹד
‘ō·wḏ
again ､
תִּקָּ֔ח
tiq·qāḥ,
וְהִשְׁלַכְתָּ֤
wə·hiš·laḵ·tā
and throw
אוֹתָם֙
’ō·w·ṯām
אֶל־
’el-
תּ֣וֹךְ
tō·wḵ
the midst
､ הָאֵ֔שׁ
hā·’êš,
of the fire ､
וְשָׂרַפְתָּ֥
wə·śā·rap̄·tā
and burn
אֹתָ֖ם
’ō·ṯām
– בָּאֵ֑שׁ
bā·’êš;
in the fire –
מִמֶּ֥נּוּ
mim·men·nū
תֵצֵא־
ṯê·ṣê-
will go out
אֵ֖שׁ
’êš
אֶל־
’el-
כָּל־
kāl-
בֵּ֥ית
bêṯ
the house
. יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
yiś·rā·’êl.
of Israel .

בְּת֥וֹךְ
bə·ṯō·wḵ
in the midst
הַגּוֹיִ֖ם
hag·gō·w·yim
of the nations
שַׂמְתִּ֑יהָ
śam·tî·hā;
וּסְבִיבוֹתֶ֖יהָ
ū·sə·ḇî·ḇō·w·ṯe·hā
. אֲרָצֽוֹת׃
’ă·rā·ṣō·wṯ.
the countries .

לְרִשְׁעָה֙

מִן־

､ הַגּוֹיִ֔ם
hag·gō·w·yim,
the nations ､
וְאֶ֨ת־
wə·’eṯ-
and
חֻקּוֹתַ֔י
ḥuq·qō·w·ṯay,
מִן־
min-
הָאֲרָצ֖וֹת
hā·’ă·rā·ṣō·wṯ
אֲשֶׁ֣ר
’ă·šer
סְבִיבוֹתֶ֑יהָ
sə·ḇî·ḇō·w·ṯe·hā;
כִּ֤י
kî
בְמִשְׁפָּטַי֙
ḇə·miš·pā·ṭay
מָאָ֔סוּ
mā·’ā·sū,
､ וְחֻקּוֹתַ֖י

and My statutes ､
לֹא־

הָלְכ֥וּ

and according to the judgments

of the nations

סְבִיבוֹתֵיכֶ֖ם

. עֲשִׂיתֶֽם׃

I [am] ､
וְעָשִׂ֧יתִי
wə·‘ā·śî·ṯî
and will execute
בְתוֹכֵ֛ךְ
ḇə·ṯō·w·ḵêḵ
מִשְׁפָּטִ֖ים
miš·pā·ṭîm
לְעֵינֵ֥י
lə·‘ê·nê
in the sight
. הַגּוֹיִֽם׃
hag·gō·w·yim.
of the nations .

וְעָשִׂ֣יתִי
wə·‘ā·śî·ṯî
And I will do
בָ֗ךְ
ḇāḵ,
אֵ֚ת
’êṯ
-
אֲשֶׁ֣ר
’ă·šer
לֹֽא־
lō-
､ עָשִׂ֔יתִי
‘ā·śî·ṯî,
I have done ､
וְאֵ֛ת
wə·’êṯ
and
אֲשֶֽׁר־
’ă·šer-
לֹֽא־
lō-
אֶעֱשֶׂ֥ה
’e·‘ĕ·śeh
I will do
､ כָמֹ֖הוּ
ḵā·mō·hū
the like ､
ע֑וֹד
‘ō·wḏ;
יַ֖עַן
ya·‘an
כָּל־
kāl-
of all
. תּוֹעֲבֹתָֽיִךְ׃
tō·w·‘ă·ḇō·ṯā·yiḵ.

בָנִים֙

בְּתוֹכֵ֔ךְ
bə·ṯō·w·ḵêḵ,
וּבָנִ֖ים
ū·ḇā·nîm
and sons
יֹאכְל֣וּ
yō·ḵə·lū
– אֲבוֹתָ֑ם
’ă·ḇō·w·ṯām;
וְעָשִׂ֤יתִי
wə·‘ā·śî·ṯî
and I will execute
בָךְ֙
ḇāḵ
שְׁפָטִ֔ים
šə·p̄ā·ṭîm,
וְזֵרִיתִ֥י
wə·zê·rî·ṯî
and I will scatter
אֶת־
’eṯ-
-
כָּל־
kāl-
שְׁאֵרִיתֵ֖ךְ
šə·’ê·rî·ṯêḵ
לְכָל־
lə·ḵāl
to all
. רֽוּחַ׃
rū·aḥ.
the winds .

live ､

[as] I
נְאֻם֮

GOD –
אִם־
’im-
לֹ֗א
lō,
יַ֚עַן
ya·‘an
אֶת־
’eṯ-

מִקְדָּשִׁ֣י
miq·dā·šî
טִמֵּ֔את
ṭim·mêṯ,
בְּכָל־
bə·ḵāl
with all
､ שִׁקּוּצַ֖יִךְ
šiq·qū·ṣa·yiḵ
וּבְכָל־
ū·ḇə·ḵāl
and with all
､ תּוֹעֲבֹתָ֑יִךְ
tō·w·‘ă·ḇō·ṯā·yiḵ;
וְגַם־
wə·ḡam-
אֲנִ֤י
’ă·nî
I
אֶגְרַע֙
’eḡ·ra‘
will diminish [you]
וְלֹא־
wə·lō-
and not
､ תָח֣וֹס
ṯā·ḥō·ws
will spare ､
עֵינִ֔י
‘ê·nî,
My eye
וְגַם־
wə·ḡam-
and
אֲנִ֖י
’ă·nî
I
לֹ֥א
lō
. אֶחְמֽוֹל׃
’eḥ·mō·wl.
will have any pity .

Famine, Sword, and Dispersion

שְׁלִשִׁתֵ֞יךְ

A third [of you]
､ בַּדֶּ֣בֶר
bad·de·ḇer
of the pestilence ､
יָמ֗וּתוּ
yā·mū·ṯū,
וּבָֽרָעָב֙
ū·ḇā·rā·‘āḇ
and with famine
יִכְל֣וּ
yiḵ·lū
בְתוֹכֵ֔ךְ
ḇə·ṯō·w·ḵêḵ,
וְהַ֨שְּׁלִשִׁ֔ית
wə·haš·šə·li·šîṯ,
and a third
בַּחֶ֖רֶב
ba·ḥe·reḇ
by the sword
יִפְּל֣וּ
yip·pə·lū
סְבִיבוֹתָ֑יִךְ
sə·ḇî·ḇō·w·ṯā·yiḵ;
וְהַשְּׁלִישִׁית֙
wə·haš·šə·lî·šîṯ
and a third
לְכָל־
lə·ḵāl
to all
､ ר֣וּחַ
rū·aḥ
the winds ､
אֱזָרֶ֔ה
’ĕ·zā·reh,
I will scatter
וְחֶ֖רֶב
wə·ḥe·reḇ
and a sword
אָרִ֥יק
’ā·rîq
I will draw out
. אַחֲרֵיהֶֽם׃
’a·ḥă·rê·hem.

､ וְכָלָ֣ה
wə·ḵā·lāh
אַפִּ֗י
’ap·pî,
וַהֲנִחוֹתִ֧י
wa·hă·ni·ḥō·w·ṯî
and I will cause to rest
חֲמָתִ֛י
ḥă·mā·ṯî
My fury
בָּ֖ם
bām
– וְהִנֶּחָ֑מְתִּי
wə·hin·ne·ḥā·mə·tî;
and I will be avenged –
וְֽיָדְע֞וּ
wə·yā·ḏə·‘ū
כִּי־
kî-
אֲנִ֣י
’ă·nî
I
יְהוָ֗ה
Yah·weh
דִּבַּ֙רְתִּי֙
dib·bar·tî
､ בְּקִנְאָתִ֔י
bə·qin·’ā·ṯî,
in My zeal ､
בְּכַלּוֹתִ֥י
bə·ḵal·lō·w·ṯî
חֲמָתִ֖י
ḥă·mā·ṯî
My fury
. בָּֽם׃
bām.

וְאֶתְּנֵךְ֙
wə·’et·tə·nêḵ
､ לְחָרְבָּ֣ה
lə·ḥā·rə·bāh
a waste ､
וּלְחֶרְפָּ֔ה
ū·lə·ḥer·pāh,
and a reproach
בַּגּוֹיִ֖ם
bag·gō·w·yim
אֲשֶׁ֣ר
’ă·šer
סְבִיבוֹתָ֑יִךְ
sə·ḇî·ḇō·w·ṯā·yiḵ;
לְעֵינֵ֖י
lə·‘ê·nê
in the sight
כָּל־
kāl-
of all
. עוֹבֵֽר׃
‘ō·w·ḇêr.
who pass by .

וְֽהָ֨יְתָ֜ה
wə·hā·yə·ṯāh
So it shall be
חֶרְפָּ֤ה
ḥer·pāh
､ וּגְדוּפָה֙
ū·ḡə·ḏū·p̄āh
and a taunt ､
מוּסָ֣ר
mū·sār
וּמְשַׁמָּ֔ה
ū·mə·šam·māh,
לַגּוֹיִ֖ם
lag·gō·w·yim
to the nations
אֲשֶׁ֣ר
’ă·šer
סְבִיבוֹתָ֑יִךְ
sə·ḇî·ḇō·w·ṯā·yiḵ;
בַּעֲשׂוֹתִי֩
ba·‘ă·śō·w·ṯî
בָ֨ךְ
ḇāḵ
שְׁפָטִ֜ים
šə·p̄ā·ṭîm
בְּאַ֤ף
bə·’ap̄
וּבְחֵמָה֙
ū·ḇə·ḥê·māh
and in fury
. וּבְתֹכְח֣וֹת
ū·ḇə·ṯō·ḵə·ḥō·wṯ
and in rebukes .
חֵמָ֔ה
ḥê·māh,
אֲנִ֥י
’ă·nî
I
יְהוָ֖ה
Yah·weh
. דִּבַּֽרְתִּי׃

בְּֽשַׁלְּחִ֡י
bə·šal·lə·ḥî
אֶת־
’eṯ-
-
חִצֵּי֩
ḥiṣ·ṣê
､ הָרָעָ֨ב
hā·rā·‘āḇ
of famine ､
הָרָעִ֤ים
hā·rā·‘îm
בָּהֶם֙
bā·hem
אֲשֶׁ֣ר
’ă·šer
הָי֣וּ
hā·yū
､ לְמַשְׁחִ֔ית
lə·maš·ḥîṯ,
אֲשֶׁר־
’ă·šer-
אֲשַׁלַּ֥ח
’ă·šal·laḥ
I will send
אוֹתָ֖ם
’ō·w·ṯām
-
לְשַֽׁחֶתְכֶ֑ם
lə·ša·ḥeṯ·ḵem;
וְרָעָב֙
wə·rā·‘āḇ
and the famine
אֹסֵ֣ף
’ō·sêp̄
I will increase
עֲלֵיכֶ֔ם
‘ă·lê·ḵem,
וְשָׁבַרְתִּ֥י
wə·šā·ḇar·tî
and cut off
לָכֶ֖ם
lā·ḵem
מַטֵּה־
maṭ·ṭêh-
. לָֽחֶם׃
lā·ḥem.
of bread .
17
וְשִׁלַּחְתִּ֣י
wə·šil·laḥ·tî
So I will send
עֲ֠לֵיכֶם
‘ă·lê·ḵem
רָעָ֞ב
rā·‘āḇ
､ וְחַיָּ֤ה
wə·ḥay·yāh
and beasts ､
רָעָה֙
rā·‘āh
וְשִׁכְּלֻ֔ךְ
wə·šik·kə·luḵ,
and they will bereave you
וְדֶ֥בֶר
wə·ḏe·ḇer
וָדָ֖ם
wā·ḏām
and blood
יַעֲבָר־
ya·‘ă·ḇār-
בָּ֑ךְ
bāḵ;
וְחֶ֙רֶב֙
wə·ḥe·reḇ
and the sword
אָבִ֣יא
’ā·ḇî
I will bring
עָלַ֔יִךְ
‘ā·la·yiḵ,
אֲנִ֥י
’ă·nî
I
יְהוָ֖ה
Yah·weh
. דִּבַּֽרְתִּי׃
