that we may attack

and chased them

And it was told

､ לִיהוֹשֻׁ֣עַ

חֲמֵ֣שֶׁת

הַמְּלָכִ֔ים

בַּמְּעָרָ֖ה

in the cave

. בְּמַקֵּדָֽה׃

､ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר

גְּדֹל֖וֹת

､ הַמְּעָרָ֑ה

of the cave ､

וְהַפְקִ֧ידוּ

and set

עָלֶ֛יהָ

by it

אֲנָשִׁ֖ים

. לְשָׁמְרָֽם׃

lə·šā·mə·rām.

to guard them .

וְאַתֶּם֙

wə·’at·tem

And you

､ אַֽל־

’al-

not ､

תַּעֲמֹ֔דוּ

ta·‘ă·mō·ḏū,

do stay [there]

רִדְפוּ֙

riḏ·p̄ū

[but] pursue

אַחֲרֵ֣י

’a·ḥă·rê

､ אֹֽיְבֵיכֶ֔ם

your enemies ､

וְזִנַּבְתֶּ֖ם

and attack rear [guard]

אוֹתָ֑ם

לָבוֹא֙

has delivered them

and they drew near ､

. צַוְּארֵיהֶֽם׃

be dismayed ､

and of good courage ､

will do

הַמְּעָרָ֖ה

the cave

אֲשֶׁ֣ר

､ נֶחְבְּאוּ־

they had been hidden ､

שָׁ֑ם

šām;

וַיָּשִׂ֜מוּ

and laid

אֲבָנִ֤ים

גְּדֹלוֹת֙

and the wilderness slopes ､
