אֲשֶׁר־

יְהוָ֖ה

Yah·weh

– אֹמֵ֑ר

’ō·mêr;

says –

､ ק֚וּם

qūm

רִ֣יב

rîḇ

plead your case

אֶת־

’eṯ-

､ הֶהָרִ֔ים

he·hā·rîm,

the mountains ､

וְתִשְׁמַ֥עְנָה

wə·ṯiš·ma‘·nāh

הַגְּבָע֖וֹת

hag·gə·ḇā·‘ō·wṯ

. קוֹלֶֽךָ׃

qō·w·le·ḵā.

שִׁמְע֤וּ

šim·‘ū

､ הָרִים֙

hā·rîm

you mountains ､

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

､ רִ֣יב

rîḇ

the complaint ､

יְהוָ֔ה

Yah·weh,

וְהָאֵתָנִ֖ים

wə·hā·’ê·ṯā·nîm

and you enduring

מֹ֣סְדֵי

mō·sə·ḏê

､ אָ֑רֶץ

’ā·reṣ;

of the earth ､

כִּ֣י

kî

רִ֤יב

rîḇ

לַֽיהוָה֙

Yah·weh

עִם־

‘im-

､ עַמּ֔וֹ

‘am·mōw,

וְעִם־

wə·‘im-

and with

יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל

yiś·rā·’êl

. יִתְוַכָּֽח׃

yiṯ·wak·kāḥ.

He will contend .

､ עַמִּ֛י

‘am·mî

My people ､

מֶה־

meh-

עָשִׂ֥יתִי

‘ā·śî·ṯî

לְךָ֖

lə·ḵā

to you

וּמָ֣ה

ū·māh

and how

הֶלְאֵתִ֑יךָ

hel·’ê·ṯî·ḵā;

have I wearied you

עֲנֵ֥ה

‘ă·nêh

. בִּֽי׃‪‬

ḇî.

כִּ֤י

kî

הֶעֱלִתִ֙יךָ֙

he·‘ĕ·li·ṯî·ḵā

I brought you up

מֵאֶ֣רֶץ

mê·’e·reṣ

､ מִצְרַ֔יִם

miṣ·ra·yim,

of Egypt ､

וּמִבֵּ֥ית

ū·mib·bêṯ

and from the house

– עֲבָדִ֖ים

‘ă·ḇā·ḏîm

of bondage –

פְּדִיתִ֑יךָ

pə·ḏî·ṯî·ḵā;

וָאֶשְׁלַ֣ח

wā·’eš·laḥ

and I sent

לְפָנֶ֔יךָ

lə·p̄ā·ne·ḵā,

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

､ מֹשֶׁ֖ה

mō·šeh

､ אַהֲרֹ֥ן

’a·hă·rōn

. וּמִרְיָֽם׃

ū·mir·yām.

and Miriam .

､ עַמִּ֗י

‘am·mî,

My people ､

זְכָר־

zə·ḵār-

נָא֙

nā

מַה־

mah-

､ יָּעַ֗ץ

yā·‘aṣ,

בָּלָק֙

bā·lāq

מֶ֣לֶךְ

me·leḵ

מוֹאָ֔ב

mō·w·’āḇ,

וּמֶה־

ū·meh-

and what

עָנָ֥ה

‘ā·nāh

אֹת֖וֹ

’ō·ṯōw

בִּלְעָ֣ם

bil·‘ām

בֶּן־

ben-

בְּע֑וֹר

bə·‘ō·wr;

מִן־

min-

הַשִּׁטִּים֙

haš·šiṭ·ṭîm

עַד־

‘aḏ-

to

– הַגִּלְגָּ֔ל

hag·gil·gāl,

לְמַ֕עַן

lə·ma·‘an

דַּ֖עַת

da·‘aṯ

צִדְק֥וֹת

ṣiḏ·qō·wṯ

the righteousness

. יְהוָֽה׃

Yah·weh.

בַּמָּה֙

bam·māh

With what

אֲקַדֵּ֣ם

’ă·qad·dêm

shall I come before

､ יְהוָ֔ה

Yah·weh,

אִכַּ֖ף

’ik·kap̄

[And] bow myself

؟ לֵאלֹהֵ֣י

lê·lō·hê

before the God ؟

מָר֑וֹם

mā·rō·wm;

הַאֲקַדְּמֶ֣נּוּ

ha·’ă·qad·də·men·nū

shall I come before Him

､ בְעוֹל֔וֹת

ḇə·‘ō·w·lō·wṯ,

with burnt offerings ､

בַּעֲגָלִ֖ים

ba·‘ă·ḡā·lîm

בְּנֵ֥י

bə·nê

؟ שָׁנָֽה׃

šā·nāh.

a year ؟

הֲיִרְצֶ֤ה

hă·yir·ṣeh

will be pleased

יְהוָה֙

Yah·weh

בְּאַלְפֵ֣י

bə·’al·p̄ê

､ אֵילִ֔ים

’ê·lîm,

of rams ､

בְּרִֽבְב֖וֹת

bə·riḇ·ḇō·wṯ

נַֽחֲלֵי־

na·ḥă·lê-

؟ שָׁ֑מֶן

šā·men;

of oil ؟

הַאֶתֵּ֤ן

ha·’et·tên

בְּכוֹרִי֙

bə·ḵō·w·rî

､ פִּשְׁעִ֔י

piš·‘î,

[for] my transgression ､

פְּרִ֥י

pə·rî

בִטְנִ֖י

ḇiṭ·nî

of my body

חַטַּ֥את

ḥaṭ·ṭaṯ

[for] the sin

؟ נַפְשִֽׁי׃

nap̄·šî.

of my soul ؟

הִגִּ֥יד

hig·gîḏ

לְךָ֛

lə·ḵā

､ אָדָ֖ם

’ā·ḏām

man ､

מַה־

mah-

what [is]

– טּ֑וֹב

ṭō·wḇ;

good –

וּמָֽה־

ū·māh-

and what

יְהוָ֞ה

Yah·weh

דּוֹרֵ֣שׁ

dō·w·rêš

מִמְּךָ֗

mim·mə·ḵā,

of you

כִּ֣י

kî

אִם־

’im-

but

עֲשׂ֤וֹת

‘ă·śō·wṯ

to do

､ מִשְׁפָּט֙

miš·pāṭ

וְאַ֣הֲבַת

wə·’a·hă·ḇaṯ

and to love

､ חֶ֔סֶד

ḥe·seḏ,

וְהַצְנֵ֥עַ

wə·haṣ·nê·a‘

לֶ֖כֶת

le·ḵeṯ

עִם־

‘im-

with

؟ אֱלֹהֶֽיךָ׃

’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā.

יְהוָה֙

､ לָעִ֣יר

lā·‘îr

to the city ､

יִקְרָ֔א

yiq·rā,

וְתוּשִׁיָּ֖ה

wə·ṯū·šî·yāh

יִרְאֶ֣ה

yir·’eh

– שְׁמֶ֑ךָ

šə·me·ḵā;

שִׁמְע֥וּ

šim·‘ū

､ מַטֶּ֖ה

maṭ·ṭeh

the rod ､

וּמִ֥י

ū·mî

and who

. יְעָדָֽהּ׃

yə·‘ā·ḏāh.

has appointed it .

ע֗וֹד

‘ō·wḏ,

הַאִשׁ֙

ha·’iš

בֵּ֣ית

bêṯ

in the house

､ רָשָׁ֔ע

rā·šā‘,

of the wicked ､

אֹצְר֖וֹת

’ō·ṣə·rō·wṯ

רֶ֑שַׁע

re·ša‘;

וְאֵיפַ֥ת

wə·’ê·p̄aṯ

and the measure

רָז֖וֹן

rā·zō·wn

؟ זְעוּמָֽה׃

zə·‘ū·māh.

[that is] an abomination ؟

הַאֶזְכֶּ֖ה

ha·’ez·keh

shall I count pure

､ בְּמֹ֣אזְנֵי

bə·mō·zə·nê

[those] with the scales ､

רֶ֑שַׁע

re·ša‘;

וּבְכִ֖יס

ū·ḇə·ḵîs

and with the bag

אַבְנֵ֥י

’aḇ·nê

؟ מִרְמָֽה׃

mir·māh.

אֲשֶׁ֤ר

’ă·šer

עֲשִׁירֶ֙יהָ֙

‘ă·šî·re·hā

מָלְא֣וּ

mā·lə·’ū

､ חָמָ֔ס

ḥā·mās,

of violence ､

וְיֹשְׁבֶ֖יהָ

wə·yō·šə·ḇe·hā

and Her inhabitants

דִּבְּרוּ־

dib·bə·rū-

､ שָׁ֑קֶר

šā·qer;

lies ､

וּלְשׁוֹנָ֖ם

ū·lə·šō·w·nām

and their tongue

רְמִיָּ֥ה

rə·mî·yāh

. בְּפִיהֶֽם׃

bə·p̄î·hem.

in their mouth .

וְגַם־

wə·ḡam-

אֲנִ֖י

’ă·nî

I

הֶחֱלֵ֣יתִי

he·ḥĕ·lê·ṯî

will make [you] sick

הַכּוֹתֶ֑ךָ

hak·kō·w·ṯe·ḵā;

by striking you

הַשְׁמֵ֖ם

haš·mêm

by making [you] desolate

עַל־

‘al-

. חַטֹּאתֶֽךָ׃

ḥaṭ·ṭō·ṯe·ḵā.

אַתָּ֤ה

’at·tāh

､ תֹאכַל֙

ṯō·ḵal

וְלֹ֣א

wə·lō

but not

– תִשְׂבָּ֔ע

ṯiś·bā‘,

be satisfied –

וְיֶשְׁחֲךָ֖

wə·yeš·ḥă·ḵā

and Hunger [shall be]

בְּקִרְבֶּ֑ךָ

bə·qir·be·ḵā;

､ וְתַסֵּג֙

wə·ṯas·sêḡ

and You may carry [some] away ､

וְלֹ֣א

wə·lō

but not

– תַפְלִ֔יט

ṯap̄·lîṭ,

shall save [them] –

וַאֲשֶׁ֥ר

wa·’ă·šer

and what

תְּפַלֵּ֖ט

tə·p̄al·lêṭ

לַחֶ֥רֶב

la·ḥe·reḇ

to the sword

. אֶתֵּֽן׃

’et·tên.

I will give over .

אַתָּ֥ה

’at·tāh

､ תִזְרַ֖ע

ṯiz·ra‘

וְלֹ֣א

wə·lō

but not

– תִקְצ֑וֹר

ṯiq·ṣō·wr;

reap –

אַתָּ֤ה

’at·tāh

תִדְרֹֽךְ־

ṯiḏ·rōḵ-

､ זַ֙יִת֙

za·yiṯ

the olives ､

וְלֹא־

wə·lō-

but not

תָס֣וּךְ

ṯā·sūḵ

anoint yourselves

– שֶׁ֔מֶן

še·men,

with oil –

､ וְתִיר֖וֹשׁ

wə·ṯî·rō·wōš

and [make] sweet wine ､

וְלֹ֥א

wə·lō

but not

תִשְׁתֶּה־

ṯiš·teh-

. יָּֽיִן׃

yā·yin.

､ וְיִשְׁתַּמֵּ֞ר

wə·yiš·tam·mêr

For are kept ､

חֻקּ֣וֹת

ḥuq·qō·wṯ

עָמְרִ֗י

‘ā·mə·rî,

וְכֹל֙

wə·ḵōl

and all [are done]

מַעֲשֵׂ֣ה

ma·‘ă·śêh

בֵית־

ḇêṯ-

､ אַחְאָ֔ב

’aḥ·’āḇ,

of Ahab ､

וַתֵּלְכ֖וּ

wat·tê·lə·ḵū

– בְּמֹֽעֲצוֹתָ֑ם

bə·mō·‘ă·ṣō·w·ṯām;

in their counsels –

לְמַעַן֩

lə·ma·‘an

תִּתִּ֨י

tit·tî

אֹתְךָ֜

’ō·ṯə·ḵā

､ לְשַׁמָּ֗ה

lə·šam·māh,

a desolation ､

וְיֹשְׁבֶ֙יהָ֙

wə·yō·šə·ḇe·hā

and your inhabitants

､ לִשְׁרֵקָ֔ה

liš·rê·qāh,

וְחֶרְפַּ֥ת

wə·ḥer·paṯ

therefore the reproach

עַמִּ֖י

‘am·mî

of My people

. תִּשָּֽׂאוּ׃

tiś·śā·’ū.

you shall bear .
