Remember David and All his Affliction

שִׁ֗יר

šîr,

. הַֽמַּ֫עֲל֥וֹת

ham·ma·‘ă·lō·wṯ

זְכוֹר־

zə·ḵō·wr-

､ יְהוָ֥ה

Yah·weh

､ לְדָוִ֑ד

lə·ḏā·wiḏ;

אֵ֝ת

’êṯ

כָּל־

kāl-

[And] all

– עֻנּוֹתֽוֹ׃

‘un·nō·w·ṯōw.

his afflictions –

אֲשֶׁ֣ר

’ă·šer

נִ֭שְׁבַּע

niš·ba‘

､ לַיהוָ֑ה

Yah·weh;

to Yahweh ､

נָ֝דַ֗ר

nā·ḏar,

[And] vowed

לַאֲבִ֥יר

la·’ă·ḇîr

to the Mighty one

– יַעֲקֹֽב׃

ya·‘ă·qōḇ.

of Jacob –

אִם־

’im-

אָ֭בֹא

’ā·ḇō

I will go

בְּאֹ֣הֶל

bə·’ō·hel

into chamber the

､ בֵּיתִ֑י

bê·ṯî;

of my house ､

אִם־

’im-

Or

אֶ֝עֱלֶ֗ה

’e·‘ĕ·leh,

go up

עַל־

‘al-

to

עֶ֥רֶשׂ

‘e·reś

– יְצוּעָֽי׃

yə·ṣū·‘āy.

of my bed –

אִם־

’im-

not

אֶתֵּ֣ן

’et·tên

I will give

שְׁנַ֣ת

šə·naṯ

､ לְעֵינָ֑י

lə·‘ê·nāy;

to my eyes ､

､ לְֽעַפְעַפַּ֥י

lə·‘ap̄·‘ap·pay

to my eyelids ､

. תְּנוּמָֽה׃

tə·nū·māh.

[Or] slumber .

עַד־

‘aḏ-

אֶמְצָ֣א

’em·ṣā

מָ֭קוֹם

mā·qō·wm

､ לַיהוָ֑ה

Yah·weh;

מִ֝שְׁכָּנ֗וֹת

miš·kā·nō·wṯ,

a dwelling place

לַאֲבִ֥יר

la·’ă·ḇîr

for the Mighty one

. יַעֲקֹֽב׃

ya·‘ă·qōḇ.

of Jacob .

､ הִנֵּֽה־

hin·nêh-

שְׁמַֽעֲנ֥וּהָ

šə·ma·‘ă·nū·hā

we heard of it

､ בְאֶפְרָ֑תָה

ḇə·’ep̄·rā·ṯāh;

in Ephrathah ､

מְ֝צָאנ֗וּהָ

mə·ṣā·nū·hā,

we found it

בִּשְׂדֵי־

biś·ḏê-

in the fields

. יָֽעַר׃

yā·‘ar.

of the woods .

נָב֥וֹאָה

nā·ḇō·w·’āh

Let us go

– לְמִשְׁכְּנוֹתָ֑יו

lə·miš·kə·nō·w·ṯāw;

into His tabernacle –

נִ֝שְׁתַּחֲוֶ֗ה

niš·ta·ḥă·weh,

לַהֲדֹ֥ם

la·hă·ḏōm

at

. רַגְלָֽיו׃

raḡ·lāw.

His footstool .

､ קוּמָ֣ה

qū·māh

､ יְ֭הוָה

Yah·weh

– לִמְנוּחָתֶ֑ךָ

lim·nū·ḥā·ṯe·ḵā;

to Your resting place –

､ אַ֝תָּ֗ה

’at·tāh,

You ､

וַאֲר֥וֹן

wa·’ă·rō·wn

and the ark

. עֻזֶּֽךָ׃

‘uz·ze·ḵā.

of Your strength .

כֹּהֲנֶ֥יךָ

kō·hă·ne·ḵā

יִלְבְּשׁוּ־

yil·bə·šū-

– צֶ֑דֶק

ṣe·ḏeq;

with righteousness –

וַחֲסִידֶ֥יךָ

wa·ḥă·sî·ḏe·ḵā

and Your saints

. יְרַנֵּֽנוּ׃

yə·ran·nê·nū.

let shout for joy .

בַּ֭עֲבוּר

ba·‘ă·ḇūr

דָּוִ֣ד

dā·wiḏ

עַבְדֶּ֑ךָ

‘aḇ·de·ḵā;

אַל־

’al-

not

תָּ֝שֵׁ֗ב

tā·šêḇ,

פְּנֵ֣י

pə·nê

the face

. מְשִׁיחֶֽךָ׃

mə·šî·ḥe·ḵā.

of Your Anointed .

נִשְׁבַּֽע־

niš·ba‘-

יְהוָ֨ה ׀

Yah·weh

– לְדָוִ֡ד

lə·ḏā·wiḏ

to David –

אֱמֶת֮

’ĕ·meṯ

[in] truth

לֹֽא־

lō-

not

יָשׁ֪וּב

yā·šūḇ

He will turn

מִ֫מֶּ֥נָּה

mim·men·nāh

מִפְּרִ֥י

mip·pə·rî

of the fruit

בִטְנְךָ֑

ḇiṭ·nə·ḵā;

אָ֝שִׁ֗ית

’ā·šîṯ,

I will set

לְכִסֵּא־

lə·ḵis·sê-

. לָֽךְ׃

lāḵ.

אִֽם־

’im-

If

יִשְׁמְר֬וּ

yiš·mə·rū

will keep

בָנֶ֨יךָ ׀

ḇā·ne·ḵā

בְּרִיתִי֮

bə·rî·ṯî

וְעֵדֹתִ֥י

wə·‘ê·ḏō·ṯî

and My testimony

ז֗וֹ

zōw,

אֲלַ֫מְּדֵ֥ם

’ă·lam·mə·ḏêm

I shall teach them

גַּם־

gam-

בְּנֵיהֶ֥ם

bə·nê·hem

. עֲדֵי־

‘ă·ḏê-

עַ֑ד

‘aḏ;

יֵ֝שְׁב֗וּ

yê·šə·ḇū,

לְכִסֵּא־

lə·ḵis·sê-

. לָֽךְ׃

lāḵ.

כִּֽי־

kî-

בָחַ֣ר

ḇā·ḥar

יְהוָ֣ה

Yah·weh

– בְּצִיּ֑וֹן

bə·ṣî·yō·wn;

Zion –

אִ֝וָּ֗הּ

’iw·wāh,

He has desired [it]

לְמוֹשָׁ֥ב

lə·mō·wō·šāḇ

for dwelling place

. לֽוֹ׃

lōw.

זֹאת־

zōṯ-

This [is]

מְנוּחָתִ֥י

mə·nū·ḥā·ṯî

My resting place

– עֲדֵי־

‘ă·ḏê-

עַ֑ד

‘aḏ;

פֹּֽה־

pōh-

– אֵ֝שֵׁ֗ב

’ê·šêḇ,

I will dwell –

כִּ֣י

kî

. אִוִּתִֽיהָ׃

’iw·wi·ṯî·hā.

I have desired it .

– צֵ֭ידָהּ

ṣê·ḏāh

Her provision –

בָּרֵ֣ךְ

bā·rêḵ

אֲבָרֵ֑ךְ

’ă·ḇā·rêḵ;

I will bless

אֶ֝בְיוֹנֶ֗יהָ

’eḇ·yō·w·ne·hā,

אַשְׂבִּ֥יעַֽ

’aś·bî·a‘

I will satisfy

. לָֽחֶם׃

lā·ḥem.

with bread .

וְֽ֭כֹהֲנֶיהָ

wə·ḵō·hă·ne·hā

And her priests

אַלְבִּ֣ישׁ

’al·bîš

I will clothe

､ יֶ֑שַׁע

ye·ša‘;

with salvation ､

וַ֝חֲסִידֶ֗יהָ

wa·ḥă·sî·ḏe·hā,

רַנֵּ֥ן

ran·nên

. יְרַנֵּֽנוּ׃

yə·ran·nê·nū.

shall shout for joy .

שָׁ֤ם

šām

– אַצְמִ֣יחַ

’aṣ·mî·aḥ

I will make grow –

קֶ֣רֶן

qe·ren

the horn

לְדָוִ֑ד

lə·ḏā·wiḏ;

עָרַ֥כְתִּי

‘ā·raḵ·tî

I will prepare

נֵ֝֗ר

nêr,

. לִמְשִׁיחִֽי׃

lim·šî·ḥî.

for My Anointed .

א֭וֹיְבָיו

’ō·wy·ḇāw

אַלְבִּ֣ישׁ

’al·bîš

I will clothe

､ בֹּ֑שֶׁת

bō·šeṯ;

with shame ､

וְ֝עָלָ֗יו

wə·‘ā·lāw,

but upon Himself

יָצִ֥יץ

yā·ṣîṣ

. נִזְרֽוֹ׃

niz·rōw.
