'Given to the Poor' in the Bible

For this ointment might have been sold for a considerable sum, and given to the poor.

For it might have been sold for more than three hundred denarii, and given to the poor. And they bitterly murmured against her.

Wherefore was not this aromatic ointment sold for three hundred denarii, and given to the poor?

as it is written, "He hath scattered abroad, he hath given to the poor, his righteousness abideth for ever."
