Mark 10:46-52 - A Blind Man Healed At Jericho

⁴⁶ They came to Jericho. As he went out from Jericho, with his disciples and a great crowd, Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, a blind beggar, was sitting by the road. ⁴⁷ When he heard that it was Jesus the Nazarene, he began to cry out, and say, "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me." ⁴⁸ Many rebuked him, that he should be quiet, but he shouted all the louder, "Son of David, have mercy on me."

⁴⁹ Jesus stood still, and said, "Call him." They called the blind man, saying to him, "Cheer up. Get up. He is calling you." ⁵⁰ He, casting away his cloak, jumped up, and came to Jesus.

⁵¹ Jesus asked him, "What do you want me to do for you?" The blind man said to him, "Rabboni, that I may see again."

⁵² Jesus said to him, "Go your way. Your faith has made you well." And immediately he received his sight, and followed him on the road.

³⁵ It happened, as he came near Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the road, begging. ³⁶ Hearing a crowd going by, he asked what this meant. ³⁷ They told him that Jesus of Nazareth was passing by.

³⁸ He called out, "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me." ³⁹ Those who led the way rebuked him, that he should be quiet; but he shouted all the more, "Son of David, have mercy on me."

⁴⁰ Standing still, Jesus commanded him to be brought to him. When he had come near, he asked him, ⁴¹ "What do you want me to do?" He said, "Lord, that I may see again."

⁴² Jesus said to him, "Receive your sight. Your faith has healed you." ⁴³ And immediately he received his sight, and followed him, glorifying God. All the people, when they saw it, praised God.
